"Hey Joker, remember when everyone was calling you nuts for predicting this line to open at -3?"

Oh, sorry, talking to myself.

It opened as a pick em didn't it? Not saying your prediction was off, but I mentioned before the close line was to get more people to bet, but would close with uk giving more points than -3.5. Again, I'm not saying you were wrong, in fact I agree with your line of thinking. I mentioned earlier I thought it would open close then move more in uk's favor.

IMO, Vegas's plan has worked. Open at even, to get more uk fans to bet, then start giving points to get the majority to bet on UL.

My post was a response to the comment Louisville was playing with house money. While I agree it means very little in the grand scheme it absolutely matters to both programs. Do you really believe this game has no meaning to Cal or Pitino?

They are two of the top coaches in America with egos to match their resumes, so yeah, I'm sure it matters to them. To say that Louisville/Pitino NEED the win is silly. Both teams will be just fine if they lose tomorrow.

Maybe he is implying Pitino needs it to feed his ego. 1-7 wouldn't be good for my ego.

Pitino has more wins than anybody in College Basketball over the last four years, including a title. I think his ego is fine.

Alright I'll give you that need is the correct word. How about Louisville wants this game as much as UK. Either way neither has more pressure to win the game than the other, which was the point of the my original post.

I always find it interesting that fans always carefully select their sample size to fit their needs. I do agree Pitino's ego is just fine, as is Cal's.:lol2:

Actually my point is Louisville isn't playing with house money. As Deuce said both teams will be fine after tomorrow. Most of the times I feel like the home team in a rivalry situation has more pressure. Of course with all of the 40-0 talk who knows.

The thing I think we all fail to realize is that these two teams are mostly comprised of kids who are not from Kentucky. So the rivalry may not be as intense for them.

100% agree that both teams want it equally. They are competitors, the players want to win every game.

To be fair, you said they both have ego's. So what is the record between the two, over the last 4 year's? Since you want to focus on the last four years..

Some over at RR are concerned over the assigned officials to the game. Apparently Cal has lost the last four UK games he has officiated. And another ref seems to have a quick whistle with the T when Cal as much as looks at him, having called 3 or 4 on him and tossing him once.

3-1 maybe? Something like that... Not sure how that changes what I said. Again, this game doesn't mean as much as you all want it to.

The Cats will just have to adjust to how the game is being called.

Folks face it both Coaches have huge EGo's. I dont know a coach out there that doesnt have some ego issues. So I would say both of them want to win.

You are the one that wanted to break things down to 4 years, not I. You said both have big ego's, which was my original response, if they both have big ego's and one coach has won one of the last 6 games between the two, don't you think it may hurt his ego a little to lose again before getting a win? You may be right, ot may not bother Pitino one bit, he should be used to it by now.

By the way the record over the past 4 years is not 3-1.

Whatever helps you sleep at night chief... Pitino would choose to be 0-100 vs Cal if it meant making the tournament and competing for championships every season. To think otherwise is irrational at best. The same can be said for Cal...
