This one might be good for 15 minutes but then the Cats should dispose of Louisville much like they have the other teams they have played.

If the game was at UK I would not be the least bit worried. Weird things happen in these rivalry type games and who knows how they will react coming out of the gate with it being their first road game. UL is playing with house money. Very seldom do you see that for a home team ranked as high as them.

 

When you have lost 6 of the last 7 and playing at home you are not playing with house money. Pitino and Louisville need this win for many reasons.

I do think this will be a game where Poythress will be missed.

Game opened at a pick'em but has been bet up to UK -4.5. -3.5 was more what I was thinking it would be.

 

I just saw the line for the first time.

 

I am surprised at the -4.5. I thought UK would be favored 5 or 6.

 

It's all on the whistle and style of play allowed, in my opinion. Also, if Montrezl gets in foul trouble or fouls out, it is a long, long day for U of L. There is no replacement for Harrell.

I've watched Louisville a few times and really think that they have some things that they'll be able to do which will cause us problems.

 

Pitino's modus operi for more talented Kentucky teams has typically been to muddy the game with lots of fouls (the ole' foul until they're tired of calling them), playing physical and trying to get into UK's head, and constantly switching defenses to keep the Cats from getting any type of offensive rhythm.

 

This isn't Columbia or Providence, this is a much more talented team who'll try to employ elements of what they did successfully against UK and who has more schemes and the talent to execute them.

Needs it for what?? One of these teams only has one ranked team left on their schedule, and it ain't Louisville. As much as you hate it, this game means very little in the grand scheme...

My post was a response to the comment Louisville was playing with house money. While I agree it means very little in the grand scheme it absolutely matters to both programs. Do you really believe this game has no meaning to Cal or Pitino?
