I'm going to take UK by 11. They will pull away late as UL gets into foul trouble.

This is what I hope happens. This game scares me. Rival games are always hard to predict. Emotions will be high for both teams, coaches and fans.

According to Mr. I'm So Bad' date=' UK has never ever seen anyone like Louisville and they are going to dare UK's big men to beat them for 40 minutes.[/quote']

Actually UK's bigs see that daily in practice.

An afternoon talk show said the Vegas line is UK -3? Can that be right?

UK by 12. Louisville will shoot better than most expect. UK will have a span in which they do not handle the press well.

At the end of the day Cal owns Pitino. Outside of the physical parts of the game, the mental part plays a factor in this rivalry.

Gotta get bets one way or another.

Well, at that line, they're going to get a lot of bets on UK.

I'll take some of that action (therotically of course)

I would imagine that's the idea. They know people will bet UK no matter what they open it at. So they open it at -3, to get more interest from both sides. A true gambler would jump all over UK by 3, but by keeping it close, they can catch some of the casual gamblers or casual sports enthusiasts betting for UL.

Edit: Don't forget, once bets start coming in, the line will change.

I'll take UK by 17 in this one..

Who is #32 for UL? Watching the game now, he just made a dunk, yet felt the need to throw his arm out and "help" this other teams player down the court at the 7:20 mark of the first half. Is this something they are being taught or are there character issues at ul?

Wouldn't more people be tempted to bet on UL if they were getting more points? Your argument seems like a contradiction to me.

I believe they opened the line close because they expected most bets to come in for UK. So they even the line up to get some people that were on the fence to bet, which means more bets from people that just like to bet on things. You can bet on pretty much anything in Vegas, that doesn't mean you have to know what your doing. Most people see two top 4 teams, and a close line, that makes it tempting to bet on something you otherwise wouldnt. The only way to make money is to get people to bet. Remember this is the opening line, expect it to chance as bets come in.

I'm missing something because they are going to get little to no action on UofL at +3. I promise you that will be the fastest moving line in the history of Vegas.

They will get some action from people that look at an undefeated team ranked 4th in the country playing at home.. That's why its called gambling. Do I believe the line will change drastically, yes, but not before the get some people on the hook.

Meanwhile, UL has their hands full with some team I have never heard of and has won 3 games all year.
