Florida's Next Head Coach

Featured Replies

According to SportsCenter, Mullen and Rich Rod won't be considered. He listed Brian Kelly, Bob Stoops, Malzahn, and Gary Patterson.

Would Malzahn leave Auburn?

I do not believe so. If they are going to break the bank for anyone, I could see it being for Chip Kelly. Not sure he wants to leave his situation in Philadelphia though.

I doubt it, but getting out of the brutal SEC West may intrigue him a little.

New word today is they want an offensive guy from the NFL. Could be Chip.

How excited will Gator Nation be if it's Rich Rod...complete disaster at Michigan. Has been successful and second level programs but completely whiffed during his shot at the top.

I just wonder, was Rod the problem or is there something going on in UMich that is preventing their past handful of coaches from succeeding? Rod leaves and immediately builds up a winner and his successor at Mich is doing worse than he is.

Not making any assertions, just wondering if there is something going on up in UMich causing what appear to be quality coaches to falter.

In my opinion he has had more success than anyone at South Bend since Holtz. I'd be careful what you wish for. Last couple times the Irish job has been open, coaches haven't exactly been jumping to be the next in line.

Am I missing something? How is Brian Kelly a candidate for the Florida job? When he left UC, he told everybody that ND was his dream job. I cannot see him leaving ND for Florida. Are some of you saying that Kelly may be pushed out of ND? If so, then I agree with Irish Cat - be careful what you wish for. ND is a tough place to win right now and I think ND will have a hard time replacing Kelly with someone else as good.

Why would Chip Kelly leave his gig in Philly for the Florida job??? I know Florida can throw a lot of money at him but so can the Eagles...

Since Urban's illness/exhaustion is over, he could return to Florida!

No, the cause of the illness and exhaustion is still in Gainsville.

Did I say that out loud?

As an official Gator hater I am wanting Joker Phillips w/ H. Mumme at UF. One less team in the SEC/SEC East to worry about.

I wonder if Billy Gillispie can coach football.

I don't know, but I'm not ready to stop enjoying how pitiful the Gators have become. I hope Foley pulls another Zook or Muschamp and not another Meyer.

I was hoping for him or Tom Crean.

I thought it was in Tuscaloosa :lol2:

Doc Holliday could be in the mix.

Do not want Shannahan. At all.
