November 18, 201411 yr Golden Domer here. My only knock on Brian Kelly is the fact that they just throw it way too damn much for my liking. Want him to leave? No.
November 18, 201411 yr I can say with confidence that Jeremy Foley will not hire another outstanding coordinator with no head coaching experience. The next Florida head football coach will have college and/or professional head coaching experience. Doesn't narrow it down much, huh?
November 18, 201411 yr Marshall HC Doc Halliday is a candidate. I've heard that for a while, and was going to mention it yesterday, but I really didn't take the reports seriously. He's done a decent job at Marshall, but if Florida were to hire him it could be the hire that get Foley fired.
November 18, 201411 yr I know his name always comes up when hi profile jobs open, but could this be the spot that Jon Gruden takes a shot at college football? He lives in Florida. Florida is a top 10 job (If not top 5), the SEC East is down, and he would be following a coach who under achieved (In the minds of the fans). To me this could be a perfect storm to sell to Gruden.

November 18, 201411 yr My guess is it will be Dan Mullen. He knows this year's Miss. St team is loaded with Sr's and its a once in a very long time type of season. JMO
November 18, 201411 yr UF background. Was there with Urban. Yeah I knew that, but I just don't think he would be a good hire.
November 18, 201411 yr Marshall HC Doc Halliday is a candidate. Shouldn't be at the top of the list, but if two or three do not take it he wouldn't be a bad hire. I've heard that for a while, and was going to mention it yesterday, but I really didn't take the reports seriously. He's done a decent job at Marshall, but if Florida were to hire him it could be the hire that get Foley fired. Holliday would be the best under the radar coach they could get IMO. He's extremely connected and would recruit the heck out of Florida. He would get a great coaching staff together. He would be the hire that wouldn't excite UF fans but in 2 or 3 years he'd have a Huge Freeze type effect, only with more success. He's a proven coach, proven recruiter, and has huge ties to Florida schools. Cato, Jean-Louis, and Grooms were all guys good enough to go to big 3 schools, but couldn't for various reasons. They're at Marshall. That says alot about Doc Holliday. I know his name always comes up when hi profile jobs open, but could this be the spot that Jon Gruden takes a shot at college football? He lives in Florida. Florida is a top 10 job (If not top 5), the SEC East is down, and he would be following a coach who under achieved (In the minds of the fans). To me this could be a perfect storm to sell to Gruden. This could be a sell for Gruden, but he's passed up NFL jobs. He might be done. Or just waiting for one of the big NFL jobs.
November 18, 201411 yr My guess is it will be Dan Mullen. He knows this year's Miss. St team is loaded with Sr's and its a once in a very long time type of season. JMO If Dan Mullen doesn't run to UF or Michigan he'd be crazy. His stock will never be higher.
November 18, 201411 yr A question posed in the Courier-Journal: Did Charlie Strong leave Louisville one year too soon?
November 18, 201411 yr A question posed in the Courier-Journal: Did Charlie Strong leave Louisville one year too soon? No, I think Texas would be the better job in the long run.
November 18, 201411 yr The real issue that the admin. at Florida realize is the program when Muschamp took over was in Shambles. Urban left it in a mess with a bunch of thugs. Muschamp has had tough time because he has been trying to clean up the program and do the right thing. The president himself admitted Muschamp has done a great job of fixing the academic failures. Only problem when you do things the right way it takes longer to grow the program. So Muschamp falls on the good guy sword.
November 18, 201411 yr I'm not predicting Doc Holliday, but I'd hire Doc Holliday. Why? What has he done to show you that he's capable of leading Florida back to the level Urban Meyer had the program?
