No doubt Florida is still relevant, they have the facilities, money, and talent. Watching this team play the talent is there but the QB isn't. QB's make or break you and no coincidence that Hoke and Mustchamp are out of jobs and never had a reliable QB.

 

I think whoever gets this team can win year one if they get the right QB in the right system.

It's amazing that you think the east is "terrible" because a couple of top teams from top conferences have a couple of wins the past couple of years against the east winners.

Saw a picture on Twitter of Foley in McIlwain's house.

It's silly on their part not to make a run at a bigger name. Unless they have in the past week to some guys and they all shut it down then it's foolish.

That report is being disputed. One report says the buyout has become an issue. Not sure why it's an issue now since everyone knew about it.

McElwain is a good coach. Don't know if he's exactly what Florida is looking for but he's a good coach. I thought they might have went with someone with a more identifiable offense, thought that is what McElwain is known for.

As a UK fan I'm thrilled with this hire. He could turn out and be an Urban Meyer type hire, but I'd rather them take risks than bringing in a huge name.
