Going when I leave work; then straight for my election day beer.

There was excitement at our polling place. First, there was a political sign within 300 feet of the facility which created quite a bit of buzz. Also, I sat in the wrong area to fill out my ballot and three different poll workers hurried over to make sure I knew which machine to put it in. This after being told which one when the ballot was handed to me. If I hadn't been running late for work I would have approached the wrong machine to really get the action going hot and heavy.

Nice way to get those old ladies' blood flowing! :lol2:

Voted at a church at 9:30 in the Taylor Mill area and it was very fast and straightforward. Took a little over 5 minutes as there were no lines. No sticker for me though! I will say that it's nice our station offers either electronic voting or a hand ballot so you have options. My father though went earlier and was not informed that he could vote electronically so that's the only hiccup I've heard up here. We were also required to present an ID and confirm our address.

Bout time for someone to cue up " We are all just drunk americans' ?

Still confused about the "confirm address" thing. What does that mean?

Won't go until after work. I live in a really active and engaged precinct, so it usually runs like clockwork over there.

I vote at the same place Mitch McConnell does and so I'm not making the mistake of going in the morning when the TV crews are pestering everyone like they did back during the primary.

So, this is you?

Edit: I should have read the rest of the thread before posting. :idunno:

I voted at Pride Park in Taylor Mill. I did not see an electronic voting machine there (but then I'm half blind too).

Really? I hadn't heard that anywhere.
I argued with my friend about this for a day. The bottle of Pappy Van Winkle he picked up this morning proved me wrong.
So, this is you?

If only.

No, I'm just here at the office waiting for the internet to provide me with the next election day comedy moment. Oh, here it is. Thank goodness for Photoshop...

No one confirmed my address except to compare what was on my ID to what was in the book. I'm not even sure she did that since it was so quick.

I sat in a line of one waiting for some woman to finish arguing about her ballot. She swore up and down that we had the wrong magistrate race for our precinct. After a call to the clerk's office she was moved aside so I could vote. I got my sticker. #nonathlete

I just voted. Lines were short. I did not have to show ID, but had it ready to do so. All four of the poll workers are neighbors. I did have to ask for my sticker, though.

PP92, I am seriously saddened by your experience.

Yeah, been a long time since I have felt like that. It's definitely hard to articulate but you know it when you see it or go through it. Very disappointing. I haven't told my wife because she gets more upset about things like this than I do.
