November 4, 201411 yr Stopped by a gas station about a half hour ago. I walked up to the cash register with a Lipton Iced Tea just in time to see the cashier giving the woman in front of me her change after purchasing a twelver of 'Nati Ice. After the lady walked out the door, I quietly said to the cashier, "I don't mean to be troublesome, but you're actually not allowed to sell alcohol on election day while the polls are open." She gave me a confused look and said, "When's election day?" ...let freedom ring. :ohbrother:

South Carolina is now the last state in the union to ban alcohol sales statewide on Election Day. Doesn't change the part of your story in which the clerk had no idea it was Election Day...
