Voting experiences today

Featured Replies

Had a couple folks load their ballots in to the hearing impaired machine when no election judges were looking :ohbrother:Other than that no major issues.

Strike that, just got a call the machine is not taking in the votes. :lol2: On my way.

Well, it's certainly a different experience in Hudson, KY than in the Highlands. I'm on the road before the polls open, so I left work early, and squeaked in under the wire at the Mason's lodge...the only other building in the town besides the church. Anywho...2 voting stations, 1 electronic, one you fill out your ballot. I filled mine out. I voted against the Take Bake Kentucky guy, and against the magistrate dude who doesn't put gravel on our road often enough. I have no idea who I voted FOR, but....I voted for Tara Pile for Jailer because she was the only one I saw signs for since I moved here. I just randomly cast votes for all other local offices. I hope one of them was for the guy who came by and was running for constable. We didn't even know there WAS a constable in Hudson...Went next door to the church afterwards and bought a bowl of chili. Got lots of stares because only 10 people (including my sister, nephew and his wife) even know who I am. I'm sure that'll give the "town" a lot to talk about for a while. Also...apparently my last name is impossible to pronounce in this neck of the woods. I showed my license, of course, but they only called me by my first name when she verified it. She said, "I'm not even going to try that one". No sticker, but not upset about that at all. I miss the anonymity of the Highlands. :lol2: I swear they stared at me from the time I walked in the door till I pulled out of the parking lot. Kind of creepy!

Currently at the election night party for a guy I know who was running for judge. These things are awful when it looks like the polls aren't going your guy's way. Heading to another later for someone currently ahead; I need that one to turn; this is depressing.

But they're a blast when you're guy is winning.

I had one vote for County Surveyor in Boyle County :lol2:

Piece of cake. It was very crowded in the parking lot, but there was really no wait. It seemed to me that the polling place had more cubicles than normal(?) Most of my time was spent looking over the 1000 judicial races on the back!

No problems voting at all for me. Is it legal to post a pic of a real ballot?

You can go on your county clerk's website and enter your street address and print out the actual ballot.

I was going to post a pic of me writing my own name in for County Surveyor lol

I think I'll write myself in next time for "Constable". That sounds like an easy job.

So true. I've moved on to another one where the woman I supported has won.

Congratulations Ann Delahanty! See you at the courthouse!

Odd voting in a church. I don't know why, it just seems odd.

Turn out was heavy in Florida, at least at my precinct. I figure all the stoners came out to vote for Amendment 2. Of course I voted for it, too.

Was Morgan and Morgan still advertising like crazy to legalize pot?

Yes, sir. John was running ads all morning on the local radio stations. Them Kentucky boys, I tell ya.

They checked my ID. No one explained anything to me, and they questioned whether or not I was turning it in at the right place (I was). I did not get a sticker.
