Open Jobs/Filled Jobs 2014-2015

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any news on what is going on with the Boone County job. Its been pretty quiet, there have not been any rumors on who is even the front runner for the position.

The few Boone people I've talked to seem to think it will go to Steele, the present AD, but this is speculation on everyone's part--akin to "anonymous sources" in the news world.

Better get your resume' in fast.

Poynter seems to know football, and has been successful in some "dog" jobs, but I just can't figure him out... The incessant moving, his choices of jobs, and his sometimes odd sideline demeanor, kinda leave me scratching my head, sometimes.

Just a different kind of dude, I guess.

"odd sideline demeanor"

OK. So that got me curious. What would this be?

I guess "odd" isn't the exact idea I wanted to express. Certainly different. Very animated, trying to pump up the crowd, sort of all over the place. Just different than what I am used to from a head coach... That along with the "rolling stone" career just makes me curious what he actually wants in his career.

That said, his results speak for themselves -- and he has won in some places where there has never been a lot of winning. If I was looking to build a program from scratch, he would, at the very least, be on my list to call.

When he was a Bourbon he did a good job and the super interviewed a guy for his job and he wasn't even fired! So I guess that is why he got out of there. Bush league admin and nothing ever happens to them, mess up move up is what happens to them. Poytner is a very good football coach.

Down to 15 programs still looking for head coaches (until @Harry Doyle corrects me with the actual number.)

Bellevue is open.

Looks good to me CWB! Besides adding Bellevue to the official list.

I don't have any word on any being filled or new openings just yet.

Edited by Harry Doyle

I think Harrison County hired Neil Furnish. It was on BGP a couple weeks ago. Was that official?

No clue there. That one has been a mystery, as has Jackson County.

Dag-gone it! I knew about that one too!
