The same could be said about a local high school basketball team travelling to Florida for a tournament over Christmas break, but on a smaller scale. They find a way and they do it.

Athletic Boosters or "Boosters" ? Again Big Difference....Every school has "Boosters" Don't tell me that if the CCH football team was asked to travel to Miami Beach to play in a Football game that they couldn't come up with the money. I could name a few "Boosters" that would write that check. Actually I know 1 of them on a personal level and they wouldn't bat an eye if it meant that their program would get some exposure on a National level. JMO! and no one is going to convince me otherwise. We at Highlands would do the same. Remember when Highlands played Elder at Paul Brown Stadium in 2000? A few Highlands "Boosters" secured the rather large Deposit that needed to be paid to secure the facility and no 1 of them wasn't a guy who works for NBC. He may of helped but he wasn't alone. Every school has their "Boosters"

After watching some of this on Youtube, I'm going to say that their line is athletic but small. They don't tackle well either. I'm seeing this going to be a 42-21 game in favor of Highlands. When is the last time that those kids would have played in 50 degree or cooler weather? That could play another factor, especially opening up both halves.

I don't think he is.......a 50 degree game in rain to these guys is not the same as a 50 degree game in rain to an NKY team.

 

Once a few years back I was playing basketball at an outdoor court in weather like what is expected Saturday. These two guys who were visiting from Florida showed up and played with us ... wearing winter coats that made them look like the Michelin man. They said they were freezing. The rest of us Ky boys were in shorts and t shirts. :lol2:

 

Yeah, the weather could be a factor.

On the flip side, spring break at Daytona Beach in April we were short on cash. We decided to sleep on the reclining beach chairs next to the pool for our last night there. With the wind blowing off the ocean and the chilly temps, you could have told me that I was in Green Bay and I would have believed you. :lol2:

I was deer hunting in 50 degree weather and got my gloves wet, my hands were freezing. I took off my gloves and put my hands in my pockets. You guessed it, about that time "Mr. Big" ran right passed my deer stand without me getting a shot off. :irked:

Reading these comments about the cold weather conditions and all I picture is Cool Runnings where Sanka "trains" for the weather in the ice cream cart.

I agree! In fact, to turn this around again, when HHS played the team from Fla last year, it was blistering hot on a Saturday afternoon. Advantage Fla team...NOPE! Once you kickoff, the weather has to be pretty extreme to have a factor on the game.
