Well, in Florida they have open enrollment so trying to figure out how good they were on film was an impossible task.

 

Not just graduates but multiple kids were different dispite their age and class grade, its like a revolving door down in Florida with athletes at some schools and UC was one of them.

 

Thats why I do not put much stock nor do I toot my horn too much when these types of matchups come up, just a crap shoot in the dark.

 

At least their is some film on this team and its the same players since the beginning of the yr, last yr with Highlands being UC first game of the yr was difficult for Highlands.

So what do you think from the film you have seen? What do the do on offense? They big, fast or both? What did you see on the D side?

Just an update on the pregame activities being put on by the class of 1983. I have just been informed that Carter New will be performing as a part of the festivities.

 

There have also been inquiries on how folks might get involved to donate for a scholarship fund which Dave Lehkamp(Birdsfan) began with his classmates during reunion planning events for those lost in the last 31 years. Unfortunately Dave is now among those we fondly remember as we try to give back in memory of those classmates. Over the past several years, we have been able to give 2 graduating students at Highlands High School a $ 500 scholarship that they can use to help further their academic endeavors. The class would very much like to keep this going for many years to come and this is the one big event we do to raise money for it every year.

You are all good classmates, JOAT, to remember those who have left us and to keep their legacy alive. Went to your FB page and it brought back a lot of great memories of Michael McDaniel who left us way too soon. He was a good friend. Good luck this weekend!

Tucker was in Canton a few years ago playing QB for the USA White team. He was opposite Highlands Griffen Urlage, Beau Hoge & Andrew Abner who all played for the USA Blue Team which I was blessed to help coach. My link shows he started his Freshman season in Colorado before transferring to Florida for the remainder of his career. Tucker is a big kid with a very nice arm. Should be a big test for Highlands this Sat. I don't think this is University Christian.....

Just taking a look at that highlight and the height/weights, these guys seem to be in much better shape along the lines than UC. Whether their running backs are as good will be interesting. The QB/passing game looks WAY better than what UC had.

After watching some of this on Youtube, I'm going to say that their line is athletic but small. They don't tackle well either. I'm seeing this going to be a 42-21 game in favor of Highlands. When is the last time that those kids would have played in 50 degree or cooler weather? That could play another factor, especially opening up both halves.
