JB, can you post the link to the Highlands can't compete thread?

Sorry RU, I ran across that message board while I was searching for info on CC. I'll try to find it again, but I'm not sure I can. It was only about 15 posts in length. A lot of posts on that thread was talking about Highlands losing Mueller and how they can't win with a new head coach in his first year. Obviously it was no body close to the Highlands program. I'll keep looking.

Bump

Need Stinky to put some time in the film room this week and give us a full report. I'm thinking from what limited video I have seen the HHS DB's will be tested this week.

Is this team coming up from Miami just to play Highlands? If so, how did that get put together and is it a home and home deal?

I don't know much about Columbus but that loss to Miami Central shouldn't lull anyone into a false sense of security. I watched Cental beat Hoover, Alabama at Hoover in August breaking Hoover's 30 game winning streak. The sideline reporter in that game said Cental had 12-15 players getting D1 interest. As for the large roster size, Elder has about 140 listed on their roster this year. Highlands wasn't given a chance to beat St. X in 2009 and that game was no where near as close as the 12-7 score--X scored in the last minute and Highlands had 4 red zone turnovers. Just last year did anyone think Collins would beat Highlands? Wait, I forgot about UKfan#1, gotta give the devil his due as he did predict a Collins win. The Jacksonville team last year had 4 guys who had D1 offers but you have to put 11(sometimes 12) out there and they have to play as a team. I can't make a prediction based on the info i have but I think Highlands will be competitive.

Miami Central QB Jerrod Thomas spreads wealth in rout over Columbus | The Miami Herald

Just saw where Columbus played today and won 61-7, were up 54-7 at half against Miami Beach in a rescheduled game from last week. Busy week for sure for those guys.

Sure hope those guys don't have to make the trip in school buses. If they travel Friday and spend the night it doesn't leave much practice time.

Highlands will have their hands full that is for sure...

These types of games are nothing more than a guess as to who is better, etc, etc.

I believe we will see a very similar team talent wise to Univ Christian but much deeper which is what UC lacked last yr.:thumb:

Univ Christians top athletes were sick! Very good. They just were not a team and stamina played a factor. But I'm not sure HHS' top 3 were even in the same class as their top 3-5 athletically. HHS was a better team though.
