SK playoff losses have nothing to do with scheduling. Every team SK has lost to in the playoffs had significantly more team speed. Now, exactly what word best describes losing a state title game to a team that was a 4 score underdog?

There is a difference between choking and getting beat by better teams. I'm not an SK fan, but over the last 5-7 years, they have been the best 6A team in NKY (aside from the team from 3 years ago that only won a few games). I wouldn't say they "choked" in any of those years. Yes they lost in the playoffs (once in the finals), but the losses have come at the hand of simply better teams.

I bet Campbell County will get a pass for scheduling Holy Cross.

Disagree. I think it is fair to call them the dominant 6A program.

 

Not yet, three years back they were 2-9. Last year they were but before that it was a toss up most years. Ryle had a couple dominant seasons and I believe CCHS won back to back districts. Nobody is a dominant program yet.

CCH = CovCath? Campbell doesn't play CovCath. Campbell and SK have 7 common opponents. Campbell plays Highlands and SK plays the 4A defending State Champs in Collins. One can argue that SK's schedule is tougher than Campbell's.

IMO, they get a waiver. If they reschedule with them, Bash away.

It was not a fluke. Holy Cross had a good run of pretty good football teams. A lot of it had to do with the start of a junior high program (my son was on the first team). Prior to the state championship, they made the playoffs a few times, would win a game, and usually lose in the second round to a team like DeSales (all were close games). In 2011, they put it all together. They had good speed, a lot of options on offense, and a nice line. In the playoffs, in the second round they got to play District 5 (Owen County) instead of District 4 (as before). When they beat an undefeated Owen County team on the road 45-0 to get over the 2nd round hurdle, we thought, maybe something special was going on. In the third round, HC had to face NCC again after having been beaten in the regular season. What a game that was...coming to down to a last second game winning field goal by Fuller. The Indians went on to claim the final two games to win the title. The 2012 and 2013 teams did not have the same mix of players. Maybe HC has not learned how to "reload" like other teams do. I hesitate to make a 2014 prediction because I have not seen much of the team yet. Hopefully, they will be in the mix to finish second in their district. That would mean that would have to win more than one game. We shall see.

Yes on senior night for CAL. Last year the game was at Male and CAL only lost 6-0.

IMO SK is the overall best program in NKY 6A. CC is coming on but I still say SK is the dominant program. Doesn't mean they'll have a down year. Just saying they're the best and most consistent and the one heading in the right direction (along with the Camels and Coach Lickert).

I meant year to year CCHS has played the top two while SK plays a 3A out of district schedule, no comparison. Let's talk in December to see which played the tougher schedule.

Sure, based on those particular parameters. Best? Past two years. Dominant? Show me where my facts weren't correct. Did CCHS win back to back districts! Did Ryle have a couple big years recently? Did SK go 2-9 three years back? Your definition of dominant is strange.

Dominant in the regular season maybe not but making the regional final 5 of the last 6 years and outlasting all other NKY 6a schools is.
