All those mentioned all have multiple state championships. Are you saying SK is in the same sentence with all them???? I think he was saying "just like every year". You can't say that about the others on your list.

SK will never play a Highlands, Lakota West, Anderson, Wyoming because they don't want everyone to see that they really are not that good. They need to schedule tougher games or they will continue to choke in playoffs..........same story, different year.

 

Sorry for the confusion. Clarification - SK cannot play tough teams because it shows that their progam is weak. SIMON KENTON chokes in playoffs. It has been the same story with SK , year, after year, after year.

Bold statement for someone on their 6th post that must not pay much attention to NKY HS football. If you did, you'd know that SK is on fantastic run over the past 6 or 7 years and has become the dominant 6A team in NKY. We have nothing to be ashamed of....We would have been thrilled to beat Trinity, St. X , Scott county, etc in the playoffs but it wasn't meant to be.

 

We're heading in the right direction. No need to talk about choking with these Pioneers...simply isn't true or factual.

Although not an expert on HC, that class that won the state title was full of exceptional athletes. Not sure if that's the case anymore. Seems like some of the kids from the public schools may be sticking there instead of going to HC.

That Holy Cross championship team got it clicking at the right time. It was all about Kyle Fuller at QB. He really put it together in the playoff run and led them to the title. I don't think Holy Cross was better than NCC that year. But they beat NCC when it counted and Fuller made the plays throughout the playoffs that got them the title. So, to answer the question, yes I believe it was a bit of a fluke but that team did have some talent.

I would agree that SK is on the rise but to claim them as the dominant 6A team in NKY is a stretch. To be honest 6A hasn't had a "dominant" team in some time. Take last year out of the equation all of the 6A teams have beaten up on each other.

Not sure I'd go that far just yet. If they go undefeated through their district schedule this year, then yes, I would say they are there. Dixie and Campbell will have something to say about it. Boone and Ryle have gone into the abyss. If Dixie beats Cov Cath on Saturday, they they would have to be the favorite in NKy 6A.

The year before that was a very down year and I can't recall how many wins and losses they had.

 

The point I am trying to make is that 6A across the board is on the rise. CCHS, SK, and Dixie could beat each other on any given Friday. IMO that's not dominance. The last true dominant 6A that I can recall would be Ryle 4 or 5 seasons ago. Again just my opinion.

SK shared district title? I am pretty sure SK swept their district! SK also has the most playoff wins in their district. Also they made it to the state finals 4 or 5 years ago.
