Thank goodness it's a catholic school. All that praying may come in handy.

 

Will be glad once they are off the schedule. HC has really went the wrong way over the past few seasons. Has a school ever fallen this far, this fast, after winning a state title?

Holy Cross will be back. They have some nice young players coming up. As a team, they looked a whole lot better this year in their first game against Holmes than they did last year. Regarding this Friday's game against Simon Kenton - I am not under any illusion about the game. However, I think the Indians will play hard. I'm not sure about all that goes into scheduling games and finding opponents to play against, but it is what is. Let them play. Koz has never backed down from a fight. Maybe it will help HC when they start playing 2A teams later in the year.

I'm in the camp of not understanding how this game is still on SK's schedule. I would have thought that the program would have out grown playing a traditionally mediocre 2A school years ago.

 

Sounds like a knock on HC, but it isn't really. They've had a couple really good years, and a state title season. They've also had some really bad seasons, and lots of well....pretty average 2A type seasons.

 

I understand scheduling isn't always easy, but at this stage this is a game neither program needs. SK would be better served playing class A Beechwood than Holy Cross nine out of 10 years.

 

Beechwood would have a chance of beating SK depending on the year. A 28-0 win BW a few years ago followed by a a close BW loss the year after without Nussbaum. Might be too big of a risk for SK if they want to to get off to a winning start.

According to the newspaper today Marksberry said Powell will be out a week. Hopefully they rest him until the week before district play.

Ya, ya, ya. Heard that before. BW would dominate SK then Highlands then Trinity. After those games they would need more competition so they would cross the river and crush St. X and Moeller. They would then challenge UC but UC would decline once they saw the 18 D1 prospects on the roster. With nowhere left to play they would petition the NFL for an expansion franchise with financial backing from Mercedes of Fort Mitchell.

You saying a win against Collins wasn't impressive considering SK had a rookie at QB? They have a great program on the rise down there.

Not exactly a game that will prepare SK for the rigors of the 6a playoffs, but SK should move to 2-0.

 

I'm not saying I'm defending scheduling this game or scheduling cupcakes throughout the season. But if you're good, you're good. Scott County played a terrible schedule last year, playing only one team with a winning record. They somehow how managed to survive the "rigors" of 6A football. If it was all about schedule, Trinity would have won things going away last year.

SK will replace HC with Highlands but will crush them also. I really wish SK played Lakota West, Anderson and Wyoming.

 

SK will never play a Highlands, Lakota West, Anderson, Wyoming because they don't want everyone to see that they really are not that good. They need to schedule tougher games or they will continue to choke in playoffs..........same story, different year.
