Best Running Backs in NKY

Featured Replies

Now that we have the QB thread up and running, lets hear about thoughts on the top running backs in NKY this upcoming season. Same as the QB thread, not interested in hearing a lot of blow hard comments, just some intersting facts/stats on why a kid may be considered one of the top at the postion.

Dillon Powell will be in the discussion.

Lets hear more than just names. How about some reasons why the kid should be considered one of the tops at his position.

Junior Dillon Powell he had around 1000 all purpose yards and 12 tds after missing 5 games. I have heard he has added some weight and will be a tough one to tackle this year.

Dillon Powell- Simon Kenton

Assuming he is back fully from injury. Never seen him play but 1,000 posts by UKFan can't be wrong- can they? ;)

Ethan Stringer- Beechwood

Dual threat coming out of the backfield running and catching. Has some wheels. I'm also assuming he stays with football after what sounds like a promising baseball career

Ben Darlington- Cov Cath

Came in game three due to an injured Luke Bir and went for over 500 all purpose yards and @ 7 TD's. Very good north and south runner- also a good blocking back in a system reliant on the QB running as much as the RB.

Jacob Smith- NCC

Extremely athletic all purpose back. If used correctly should have an outstanding year.

Torry Cordell- Cooper

Extremely fast back- went down with an injury late in year. Hope he bounces back and puts on a little weight.

Lex McGregor- Ryle

Hasn't really been able to show what he's got due to injury. I'm assuming he's healthy now and can go. Very good hips and speed.

That's just who I am aware of personally and thru reading here. I'm sure Highlands, Campbell Co, Dixie and a few others will have something to say as well.

Joe Studer from BW will be sharing time this year with Stringer.

I just saw him one time last year against Conner & really liked him. Looking forward to tracking his progress this year.

If we use the old line and say best pound for pound, Studer is at the top of the list. That is one of the toughest dudes I have ever seen carrying the ball. He is not big but man does he run hard.

I am guessing Stringer will see more action at WR than RB.

Sorry to hear that. I remember watching the kid run track in middle school and you could tell he was special.

I saw him play when he was 10 or so in the BCPFL. Great speed, and was really put together even then. He looked like he could be a good one, but I remember him having some issues with asthma at the time. His Dad is a really good guy too.

If Smith from NewCath gives 100% every single play he has to be in top 2 of this list. I hear he put on a bunch of muscle this off season I say Powell and Smith 1 and 2
