I'll take an underdawg..Aaron Floyd if he finds a team and is at that position.

erdman will be back there to with studer

Absolutely. Erdman looked really good in the carries he got last year. He also is a hard running back. With Erdman and Studer, that makes me believe even more that Stringer will see his offensive reps catching passes.

Walton's Mason Compton.

It will be interesting to see how Campbell Co. uses Matthews, as a qb or wildcat. With Myers blocking for him and an experienced oline up front, they could be very tough.

Twenty posts and no mention of a Bluebird. My fellow HHS faithful must be adhering to a dead period for posting.

Griffin Urlage is number one of the depth chart. Can't give any stats to back up an argument that he will be one of the top five in N Ky since he has played defense only the last two seasons in the HHS platoon system. Last time he was a ball carrier was as a freshmen.

I guess my reason for thinking he will be top five is that he will be the tailback at HHS. That in itself should put him in the discussion.

Good thread. I am enjoying seeing some names that had slipped my memory and some new ones I know very little about.

Owens from Dixie is a good one.

lex Mcgregor -Ryle, may be out all year.. Bad shoulder requiring surgery.

That's really too bad. Seems like he's had a fairly significant injury almost every year he has played.

Chris Brown from Gallatin should have another good year. He averaged over 8 yds per carry last year. Very strong, physical runner.

Joe Studer from BW will be sharing time this year with Stringer.

I see Studer getting the majority of carries from the backfield this year by a lot. He kind of separated from the pack last year towards the end of the season and really finished strong. With a good offseason, I think Studer will finally get the recognition he deserves. Kid works way too hard.

One of the most intriguing for me will be Cordell-Armstrong for Cooper. He broke his leg last year against Dixie so I will be curious if he is at 100% or not this year. He may be one of the most elusive backs in the area this year. He doesn't have break away speed but if he gets some blocking he could make some big plays. I think Cooper needs to compliment him with a blocking back this year because he isn't strong enough to run over guys but if he gets into the open field he's tough to bring down.

Could be fun to watch. I'm not tossing his name in there as one of the area's top RB's but don't be surprised if he is mentioned a lot toward seasons end.

As I think and read about the N. Ky. running backs, I still can't come up with a clear top 5. I don't see anyone I consider a true stud that can carry a team by himself. There are a lot of solid backs and several with the potential to become that stud, but I am not seeing that dominating, top shelf returning back in N. Ky.

Here is a name that came to mind as I was typing this post - Dominick Joseph at Newport. He has some potential. Does anyone have an update on him?

Great kid, great family, great athlete. Tons of bad athletic luck. The kid just cant get and stay healthy.

Dominick ( DOM ) should have a great year . Great kid. Love to hit. Good athlete . He move up here after hurricane Katrina. Erlanger lions club help his family. He never played football before. He come long way.

Owens from Dixie is a good one.

Very strong north and south runner. Ball security is his weakness.
