Weird Food You Like

Featured Replies

Banana and miracle whip sandwiches on the whitest of white bread, just not the same on wheat bread. Grew up on banana and mayonnaise sandwiches, but after I discovered miracle whip there was no turning back. May not be weird to some I don't know, but to most anyone I have mentioned this to they thought it was weird.

Oh no! Some things in this thread sound gross, some sound interesting, but Banana and MW sandwiches is just downright the grossest thing that I read in this thread. My stomach just turned. :yuck:

Dill pickle wrapped with a slice of cheese

Scrapple. Betta than goetta. Even better with a fried egg and ketchup on white bread.

You mention scrapple quite a bit and I'd love to try it. Where can you get it?

Like mine on crackers.

Yeah, crackers are the preferred method of eating it at Grandma's as well.

I love chorizo. Cow tongue isn't bad. Neither is tripe, if you can get past the texture. Mountain oysters, chitlins, and hog brains are OK, but not something that I would eat if there is something else. My maternal grandfather loved hog brains and eggs for breakfast.

Yea, I can't do the intestines that Mexican restaurants down here do (forget what they are called). Same for chitlins. Just something about eating intestines doesn't appeal to me, regardless of the fact that some people love them.

So you don't eat Italian sausage, Polish sausage, brats, knockwurst, or kielbasa?

BTW, I'm making myself hungry.

Our local Kroger carries it in the frozen food section. Jones brand (although I prefer Rapa), in one-pound bricks.

Thaw, slice in 1/4 to 1/2 inch slabs, cook in hot oil.

One of the "snacks" my mother would serve when I was little was a banana sliced lengthwise with a dollop of mayo and a dollop of peanut butter on it.

Miracle Whip is enough to turn my stomach.

Grilled Cheese dipped in ketchup or Tomato Soup.

Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches. Must be on toasted bread and open faced.

If both corn and apple sauce are served, I will mix them together.

I like BBQ chicken on the grill--but go right ahead and burn it please.

And all of the above are outstanding with a side of Haribo Gummi bears. :)

The kind of intestines I was referring to are an entirely different breed.

Colby jack cheese with chips ahoy chocolate chip cookies.

Someone in my house loves chocolate frosted cake donuts with a slice of Velveeta on top. :idunno:
