Not all programs are horror stories.

 

Some are quite enjoyable to work in. Ours has had two head coaches in the past 18 years. Our administration stays out of our way, we have great kids, parential support, and we all know our roles.

 

unfortunately you hear far fewer stories such as that......but you bring to mind that good things dont make the news as much as bad ones. Good point!!!

just walk away. Unless the head coach is doing something illegal it's not your place to run to administration or my all time favorite

run to the nearest wealthy parent. (preferred choice)

 

I'll try to ask some of the parents from the team and get there take. This could be speculation or it could have some truth to it..

I am hearing that Montgomery may be cutting bait with Jason Holland.

I understand coach Holland wants to get into administration and watch his daughter play. Was 14-0 at one point during the season and had to meet with Superintendant. He was miserable there.

 

Superintendant, "Coach, you're not winning enough games"

Coach, "we are undefeated"

Superintendant, "well, you are not playing the right players"

If he did in deed step down, I'm glad to see the administration has given him a job, that is clearly the right thing to do.

He was forced out. He moved his family to Mt Sterling...the least they could do. Shame what is going on there. The kids playing for a different coach every year is ridiculous. It is high school basketball and should be an enjoyable experience.

Over the last 4 plus years the boys program has had its share of "strong personalities". Once that doors opens for 1 parent, it continues to swing

for the next parent. Truly a shame, but like many communities that's just the way it is.

It sounds as though this coaching job has become RADIOACTIVE. Too bad, as it used to not be. Applicants need beware, but there are always young guns who are cocky and self-assured climbers who are more than willing to plunge ahead. The smiling faces who welcome you to town may well be the frowning faces who put a for sale sign in your yard without consulting you beforehand. :arghh::deadhorse:

Jason has had success at every stop in his coaching career. Including Final 4 at state with Oldham County. I don't think Jason Holland has a big ego (I've known him through basketball for about 5 years), but if he did, it would be well deserved with the amount of success he has had.
