April 2, 201412 yr Serious question...have you ever had your heart broken? I have recently been devastated and I've discovered that it has made me find a whole new me.
April 2, 201412 yr Keep breathing bud…it's a part of lifes journey and happens to all of us at some point. The pain will grow less each day. And you'll adapt and overcome to find the mate of your dreams down the road. Don't read too much into the circumstances and realize you may be much better off in the long run. In the short run be kind to yourself, watch comedies, listen to good music, and spend time with good friends who will help you get back on a good foot. Hope these insights help. Take care!

I have no doubt that it was a blessing and I'll be much much happier in the future. True love is hard to find and I actually loved this girl. She threw it away and I would bet $100 bill right now that she will regret her decision in the future.
April 2, 201412 yr I think most of us have had a broken heart at some point in our lives. However, the broken heart will mend and we move on. The right person will come along somewhere down the road. Be patient and do some things that we enjoy. Hang in there, things happen for a reason.
April 2, 201412 yr It happens it hurts but it won't last...but the pain will last longer than you think. Do yourself a favor and stay positive and doing positive things...don't let this drag you down personally.
April 2, 201412 yr I got a feeling if we went back three and a half years, I had the exact same post on here. Thing that helped me the most was simply realizing that you'll never understand or get the answers that you're looking for. Move up and move on. Do something for yourself. Hate that you have to deal with it.
April 2, 201412 yr One of God's greatest gifts is unanswered prayers. One of the most meaningful songs ever written and it hits home. Great advice all wrapped up into one simple saying.
April 2, 201412 yr Sorry to hear about your troubles, Wireman. Unfortunately, it happens to the best of us. Keep your head up and push forward. I've definitely been there. I had a glorified friendship with a girl for over two years. We talked literally all day, every day. Whoever woke up first texted the other, and we didn't stop until we fell asleep. Every day, for two years. 30,000 text messages a month. We went places and did things, I'd go to her house and hang out with her and her parents. She'd come to my place and we'd hang out. I couldn't help but smile when I was with her or thinking about her. We did this for quite a long time. In the summer of 2010, she went on vacation and when she came back, she wanted me to come stay with her at her house. She lived out in Oldham County, her parents weren't going to be back until the next day, and she didn't want to stay out there alone. Hey, works for me. :lol2: Keep in mind, we had never been intimate in the year and a half up to this point, hadn't even kissed. So we are lounging around watching movies and stuff, and long story short, we ended up kissing for the first time that night. Stayed up all night, all that good stuff. It was completely unexpected, as I knew she wasn't "like that," and it was never about that with her anyway, because of how I felt about her. At this point, we were dating, without the title. I was emotionally invested in her (I had been for months), and things were going great. All of a sudden, out of the blue, she decided we needed to back off and blah blah blah blah. We went from talking all the time and seeing each other 3-4 times a week to absolutely nothing. I was crushed. Literally had never been so upset over a girl in my life, and I was 23 at this point. Didn't eat for like three days because I was that bothered by it. She came back around a couple months later, but nothing was the same. We never got that spark back that we had. Just like MJ said, I never got a real answer why, and I have talked to her maybe twice in the past year. I didn't think/know I loved her until my mom actually said it to me. I was describing to her everything that was going on and she said "You love that girl," and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I'd like to say us not continuing our relationship was for the better, but I just can't. There were no negatives that I saw, but apparently she did. I've never been the type to press a situation like that, so I let it be, as much as it sucked. Still bothers me today to talk about it.
April 2, 201412 yr Not to get all psychological, but personally, I think something that happens too much in these situations is that we want so badly to 'be okay' that we act like we're okay, and we're not.... That doesn't do a lot to help. It helped me a lot when I started to understand that it was okay that I was 'not okay' yet. That there were going to be those bad days where you feel not very good about it. There's probably going to be a few rants to your best friends and family, and while you might feel stupid about it at the time, they'll understand... That brings up another thing... It sounds cliche, but I have always stuck by the thought that in hard times, you can lean on your best friends and your family. They were the ones that were there before, and they will be there after.
April 2, 201412 yr Author Deuce, almost the exact same thing here. Now that I'm on the outside looking in, there were some red flags I should have noticed but I think I just truly let myself go all in and was all about her. We talked all day every day for 5 months. I spent the night with her Friday night, got up the next morning and got intimate, left with I love you and I love you too, she told me she'd talk to me as soon as she got off work... That evening I never heard from her after work. After an hour and a half I messaged her to see what was going on. Never heard back. Messaged her later that night, nothing. Finally at 11:30 I plainly asked her to tell me what was going on. She replied and said "sorry but I had to distance myself from you." Just like that. After 5 months of complete love and her talking about marriage and having babies in the future. I was hurt at first, then angry, then hurt. Talked to her last night for the last time and she said she has moved on. So, I'm done with her. I'll never look back.
April 2, 201412 yr Yep, sounds pretty similar. There were red flags for me as well, but like you, I still gave myself up hoping I would get what I wanted. We never had talks as serious as marriage or babies, but it was obvious how strongly we felt about each other. And then in an instant, it was all different. I would feel much better about it if there was something specific that caused it to end, at least then I'd know. She still to this day has never given me a definitive reason.
April 2, 201412 yr Been there. Got divorced after 10 years of marriage from a girl that to this day, I still have a place in my heart for. I didn't eat or sleep for about a week, just packed boxes, threw up, and cried. We have 3 kids together, so we still talk often, but things will never be repaired between us. I'm not sure i'm a better person for it, but I do know it changed me.
April 2, 201412 yr Yep, been there, done that more times that I really care to remember. I will be 48 here in a couple of weeks and have had a lot of relationships in my life. When the ones that really saddened me when they ended happened...I cried, felt bad for a while, lost my appetite, all the things most people go through. But then, it always hit me. Hey dude, get back out there, LOTS of nice women out there, go find one and give her the pleasure of being with the BigVMan! Best medicine there is...and fun too!
