February 17, 201412 yr I understand the thinking of the snake handlers, and no matter how much I disagree with them on the practice, I have to admire their dedication to their beliefs. It would be a tremendous test of my faith if somebody handed me a 5 foot timber rattler during worship. If I honestly believed that is what it took for me to be obedient (which is the case with these folks) then I would have a huge spiritual battle within because I don't think my faith is that strong.

For those - perhaps Fundamentalist is painting with too broad a brush - persons that eschew medical treatment; I guess they don't believe that God had a hand in hospitals, doctors, medical advancements, etc. I'm not expressing myself well but you know what I mean.

February 17, 201412 yr I guess I've been binge watching too much Justified. My first thought when I read the headline was to wonder of Boyd Crowder was behind it.
February 17, 201412 yr I went out last night with some friends and got told a real life story of these snake churches. My friend when was a little kid went to one of these churches down in Kentucky with his grandpa and was scared to death and on they way home. His grandpa said I am scared to death to. That is why I play the guitar at church so I don't have to hold a snake. I couldn't imagine being at one of these churches.
February 18, 201412 yr I can't understand why people do these kind of things! It's just mind boggling. I mean, this is the 21st Century and some are still taking their interpretations of these writings a little too literal. How is it legal for parents to bring their children into a dangerous enviroment like that? That seems to me like endangering the welfare of a minor offense.
