Cooper PA Guy Goes After CovCath Students On Twitter

Featured Replies

Does it really matter why they were cheering?

Doesn't it show a lack of respect to be cheering, period, while an opponent is laying on the court injured?

This has always been my take on it to. Don't think I have been to a game where this was not the case. Just shows respect.

I can only assume from his tweets that the PA guy is a student?

I can not answer that. I do know that they do have a student who does it a lot but can't say if it was a student or not last night.

This is one reason I'm not a big fan of twitter myself. Hard to take back things once tweeted in the heat of the moment. The Fant vs Elam thing is a perfect example

You don't have to completely stop everything you are doing, but I thought it was common knowledge/courtesy that you stopped cheering and were respectful when a player was down with an injury...

No, he was in his late 30's, early 40's, was sitting about 30' from them, and kept looking over his shoulder, smirking, and rolling his eyes at their stuff. I noticed him all night because I was sitting near him and his disdain for the 300 boys dressed in black was fairly evident.

I was there, Zack McNeil ran into a Mark Schult screen, got doozy, and eventually laid down (was back in the game about 10 minutes later). I don't recall them being quiet during his time on the court, but I can tell you that Zack got a great ovation from all in attendance when he got up and walked off the court.

That was going to be my next question: Did the Crazies give him some love as he got up and left the court. :thumb:

My oldest will not let me follow him on Twitter. He says it is the only social media format adults have not screwed up (yet).

I know it's not very clear, but dude should watch it anyway.

The PA guy is just a guy who loves attention. If I were him I wouldn't interact with students but he can build his own stick house if he wants. He is a 100 percent Super de duper Cooper fan.

Great that he's a big fan but from posts on here seems a bit immature if he's in his 30's or older.

When I first saw this Thread my first thought was "Why was a guy from Cooper Pennsylvania going after Cov Cath students on twitter" .

IMVHO fans have become WAY TO SENSATIVE about how opposing fans act when a player is down.

Agree. It is rare that a stoppage of play for an injury is more than just "gimme a minute", most of the time the kids don't want to come out of the game, just got " a little doozy". As I heard once in a grade school tournament: "Basketball is a contact sport, if you don' t like it, grab a tennis racket"….still laugh about that today.

Pete Coleman is very immature and he claims to be a youth leader. He is far from it. Went after a Conner player during football season because his grapes got soured. Guy needs to grow up. #notgoodforourkids
