Cooper PA Guy Goes After CovCath Students On Twitter

Featured Replies

You are very clear on this point, so tell me how you feel about the PA Guy and his public remarks?

I refer you to post #47 in this thread.

Gotta side with the ones that think it's inappropriate for the fans to be standing on the players chairs.

Also have to say that there's never any legitimate reason for an adult (especially one that represents a school, even as a PA announcer) to take shots at teenagers on social media.

Also have to say that many (not all) PA announcers think that they are the show. I have no problem with a little enthusiasm for the home team but I HATE PA guys that think their role is to be a cheerleader for their team or to be a play-by-play announcer.

Basketball? I never heard him yet.

Football announcer.

Football announcer.

To tell you the truth I didn't pay much attention to him 2 years ago when we played there.

The only time I seem to notice a Pa announcer is when something catches my attention they may say and it's usually a negative. So with me not remembering him is a good thing.

I truly believe that every person on here if they were honest would admit that they would love for their school's students to be the Crazies, warts and all.

I wouldn't trade my school's students for any others, warts and all.

I don't know about that. Maybe they'd like the numbers of the crazies but my schools section has never done anything (yet) to embarrass their alumni etc. So I'm pretty happy with them.

Sure, everyone will say that but I'm not buying it, CCH support outdoes everyone and they are no worse than any group from any school. They just are under more scrutiny because they actually show up in numbers at away games. Yours doesn't, nobody's does.

Again, what I expect everyone will say in public.

I have already said I would love to have the numbers the crazies have, but that is different than saying I want the crazies to represent my school.

To say they are no worse than any other schools is exactly what I said in a previous post their backers would say when in fact that isn't true at all or at least this year in recent weeks.

Show me where other schools have done some very questionable things that were viewed with such negatively.

That was my point when I said they have such a fervor fan base that they will defend anything they do no matter what.

Again, what I expect everyone will say in public.

You are essentially saying that I am lying. You can believe what you want from your perspective. Not everyone subscribes to how other people want things to be.

I go to basketball games to watch basketball. Not cheering sections. I do appreciate a good cheering section that supports their team, has fun, without being derogatory to others and without the need to BE the performance.

I am glad CovCath is proud of their "Crazies." There are many schools around the state that are proud of their kids, too, and don't wish to trade places.

That is exactly how I feel.

I don't go to games to watch the student sections. I go to watch the game. When the student sections become the main topic, then something is wrong IMO.

I feel the same when it comes to PA announcers. When they become

The topic something negative has occurred

Most of the time. Which is a shame because it's taking away from the game itself most of the time.

Maybe standing on chairs is catching on?

That's in the locker room after the game and not fans. Big difference.

So it is standing on someone's chair when they can see you that matters? Splitting hairs now aren't we?

Not appropriate, in my opinion. As someone who worked hard to raise the money used to purchase the padded chairs my teams have, I personally would take offense at anyone standing in them. Same goes for the chairs in my house.

No one seems to want to answer whether or not their guests stand on chairs inside their home.
