February 18, 201412 yr Just to stir the pot a little....The Cooper PA blasted the music twice while the Boone cheerleaders were at mid court doing cheers. I honestly think he's in his own little world of doing "his thing" and was clueless to it. That guy just makes me laugh. He's like a hyper teenage boy enjoying the moment. I didn't pay attention, but shame on him for doing so. I was happy to see the Cooper Cheerleaders get their recognition tonight for finishing 8th at Nationals. Great achievement.

February 18, 201412 yr Well I don't know how much more we will get accomplished in this thread. Hellbird, sorry for being argumentative and what not. We definitely can agree that this past week, the crazies didn't make any new fans. When people feel disrespected by the actions of a group, or individuals in that group, then there is an issue. I hope that the good guys can conduct themselves better as a whole. They are a great group of guys.

I've been really impressed with the support the community gives Cooper in all sports. 2 years ago they travelled so well in the Football playoffs that their fans outnumbered every home teams fans at all 4 games leading to the state title game.
February 18, 201412 yr Ok, I'll chime in, lol. I have been to a few games at Cooper since the opening of that school, I assume the PA guy is the same? As from the description is sounds like it. A few times I didn't really pay attention to him, as I guess he was doing his job, and not going too much outside that job description. But at two other games I thought he was annoying! As the student section cheered he got louder, louder, and louder so HE could be the one that the entire gym, and half of Union could hear. On these two nights, I agree with those posters who say he is all about himself and wants to be noticed. Which is not only uncalled for, but sad! And I am not sure why any school would put up with it. I can see having a couple of moments with lack of judgment, but there seems to be a patterned here. Make it fun, a "little" entertaining, for the teams and fans? YES! Wanting to be in control, needing to be the one to be heard over anything or anyone else for personal satisfaction? NO! I was the PA guy for Cov. Holy Cross for a few years, not sure if he went to Beechwood with Coach Goetz, but I think the one they had last year was the one who followed me at H.C.. Yes, you can emphasize the home team a little, as long as you don't downgrade the visiting team, and doing it the proper way is very easy to do, and keeping it a little entertaining for everyone without making it out to be about you! It's not a PA guys job to drown out a student section or make remarks over the PA that might be taken the wrong way. that is the job of the administration or the police on site, not yours. I could have went on to a university within driving range, but had other things to do with my life and had to turn it down, as it was just a hobby and I enjoyed doing what I did for the teams and fans, both the home and visitors. I never would have thought of doing such acts to a student section or fans of any team, and would not let my personal opinions interfere with my job, even though I get along with most anyone. But having said that, I always enjoyed the CCH student section, when I was a PA guy, and before and after, when I was the PA guy is was fun to have them in the gym, a lot more schools students should be more like them. I don't see they group anything other than entertaining, but they are KIDS, and at times one or two KIDS may make the wrong decision, but to go after them on Twitter? Who is acting childish again? The students or an adult?
