February 3, 201412 yr Did Peyton Manning play a terrible game last night? I heard Mikey on the radio this morning talking like he was terrible. I don't think Manning was that bad. His offensive line could not keep people off of him. What else could he do? He missed a couple throws. So did Russell Wilson and everyone says he played great. The one INT was definitely a bad throw. If you look at the stats, Manning played very well IMO considering the pressure he was under all night. Point two - if these two played again next Sunday, what would you predict the score to be? I say Seattle 27 Denver 17.

Preseason games are usually played by all backups after the first or second quarter. That's just an odd coincidence because most teams don't care if they win or lose a pre season game.

February 3, 201412 yr First off, congrats to Seattle. I will eat crow and admit I never thought in a million years Seattle was going to beat the Broncos, let alone demolish them. With that said, what is the deal with people bashing Peyton Manning? I dont get it. It seems like everybody's measuring stick for great athletes is "if they win the big one" and then after they "win the big one", it changes to "if they win another big one". Its never ending. Whether you love or hate the guy, he is one of the best to ever play this game. Heck, he has practically been a QB, an OC, and Head Coach for his entire career. He is a class act on and off the field. He wins with class, loses with class. He has a work ethic that I can only hope I could give 1/100th of to my kids. Just dont understand. February 3, 201412 yr Seattle's line got pressure, Denver's didn't. Simple as that. Throw in a few miscues by Denver and here we are. When Denver would start gaining some steam they would shot themselves in the foot with a turnover. As far as Peyton's performance, it wasn't as bad as the score shows. He had a few high throws, one of which was picked. That's on him. The second pick was created by the D line hitting his arm and then Moreno just standing there watching the ball like an idiot.
February 3, 201412 yr Pretty sure those turnovers are on him. Pick six was more on O-line than him and the Receiver that made no effort to go get the ball that flew straight up in the air. Fumble by Thomas after completion wasn't on him, lack of YAC by WR's wasn't all him either. Biggest gain of the night YAC was the ball that Thomas fumbled, without that run YAC would have been 2 yds or less. WR's needed to get separation but couldn't all night.

The salary cap has nothing to do with the fact that Manning coaches himself and tries to take on the entire staff of the other team.
February 3, 201412 yr As far as the Peyton Manning talk goes.....I didn't think he played terribly. He was average. Some huge turnovers, but one of those could probably be attributed to the O-line as much as him. Rightly, or wrongly, QBs in the NFL are judged based on postseason success and rings. Manning will forever go down as one of the greatest QBs of all-time, however last night's performance more than likely ends all the talk about him as the GOAT. Top 10 without question, most likely top 5, but missing out on that 2nd ring is a huge blow to his claim to the top spot. His numbers (regular season) are second to none, but the undisputable facts are there that really hurt his case....Most postseason losses of all time. Has a losing postseason record for his career.
