2006 KY Allstar Roster

Then you should leave it at "I hope he was considered". Instead of disparaging one running back, you're casting a shadow over all of them, right?

BTW, me saying I thought Sauerback was a better LB this year than Guidugli is not a criticism of Ben. Fine player. Its no different than saying who you think the MVP/POY should be. You're picking one and essentially saying the rest , while good, are not AS good. No harm in that.

I do see your point, but disagree. If so, then noone should post any names of kids they think should have had a shot at this team. You are not going to get me to name a player on that roster that should be replaced by Blume by commenting that my comments cast a shadow over all of them. I don't think it does. IMHO, if the leading rusher in the state is a senior, he should have a spot on the squad and I don't think that casts any shadow on those that made it.

Touchy..touchy...touchy...had a bad day? There was no intent in my response to demean your intellect. I was merely trying to present a potential senario which occurs elsewhere. Try a seditive and have a nice day.

No bad day, I'm just tired of repeating myself on this thing. I thought I laid it out pretty well, and you just spit the same stuff back out to me. Sorry if I came off wrong there.

Thanks for explaining that earlier. I didnt expect a school to start a summer session that late in May.

I almost hate reading posts about things like this because it always turns into homers talking about how their favorite player isn't on the team. And how a kid from their school deserve it more then anyone else and how the it is all politics. How do you guys think that makes the kids that did make the list feel.

Hey let me tell you something about "HOMERS!"

You have probably never even seen Ron Blume play! If you haven't you missed some great performances from this kid! Tell me one thing how many kids have you seen go on the road and have 22 carries for over 400 yds. against a team that was suppose to be better?

Jimmy Chafin is a great player but let's go to one game Chafin and Blume can be compared and that is against Paintsville. Blume had over 300 yds. against the Tigers and Chafin although they said was hurt came in 2 times late in the game on 4th and short and got the first down! That is awesome but where was he on the other plays. Mr. Chafin if you are reading let me tell you first hand you are a great running back and I am not taking anything away from you.

How could any coach leave Blume off this team? Yes, all these kids on the team deserve to be there! I will not take anything away from those kids! What more does a RB have to do to be on that team?

I love High School ft. ball but Blume not being apart of this team makes me angry!

peace

I tried to identify the school that each of the all-stars committed to, but, I do not know all of them, can any fill in the blanks OR correct me if I'm wrong?!?

Andre Henderson Manuel Univ. of Louisville

Did he transfer to Mexico after playing a couple of years at Manual in Louisville?

Heard Chaffin was on the squad as a WR.

I have backed you up on Blume and the all star team, but I am not sure that the comparison is a fair one. Chaffin did have to split his carries with 2 other very solid backs (Roskopf and Reynolds), and I know that at least 1 of them had over 1,000 yards rushing as well this season.

However, I can honestly say that I have seen them both play and would take either (preferably both) for my high school team. Give me those 2 guys and I may only throw the ball 3-4 times per game, ... and when I do, I would probably throw it to one of those guys. 2 phenomenal players. Having seen them both, I would not want to have to choose between them. Either way, you are a winner. They have both been their team's 'go to guy' since they were sophomores and that says a lot about both of those kids.

RB will always give ones grief....but I do have to go with whomever is the true D1 prospects out there. Next year will be worse as I feel that Vic Anderson and Doug Beaumont will both be invited from the 'Ville....and people will feel that there are much better elsewhere.

If Anderson and Beaumont were both seniors this year instead of juniors, I would be taking the same tact as MountainThunder took above in acknowledging the attributes of both Chaffin and Blume, and arguing against anyone who would place any other RB's above them on this team. Thankfully, I get to wait one whole year before my blood pressure rises. :D

Having been diligently tutored at the TD School of Charm for years, what else should one expect? :fight:

If Beaumont and Anderson both don't get invited next then there will be reason for grief. If there are 2 better in the state as juniors I would love to know who.

Just a question but do you see Blume as playing a WR? That is where Chaffin is being positioned. His athletism and ability is allowing him to play another position. How tall is Blume? I know Chaffin is only 5'11 but I thought Blume was around 5'8 or so, I may be wrong. Either way UT's defenders are tall and I would say that 5'11 is the least they would take at WR, either way he didn't make it as a RB, so that comparision is MUTE.

To begin with I am not a homer, I graduated from Highlands and still go to a few games a year to watch the Birds. I am not trying to bash Ben, he is a very good TE, which is what he will be doing at UC. With that being said, I am also a Camels fan. I seen both play quite a bit. Matt is just a much better LB than Ben, which is not a knock on Ben because Matt was by far the best LB in Nky.Are the other TE"S as good as Ben? I don't know so I can't say. I just think putting Ben at LB in front of Matt just isn't right. Your opinion's.

What i wanna know is how a team that wins a state championship and has two all staters does got one kid on the team!!!! The people who pick this team need to start paying attention to the eastern part of the state, who the last time I checked took home the state title in all 4 classes

Russell deserved to at least have one kid on the team......

Last year Boyd, Russell and Ashland all had players on the team- the region is not overlooked.

KY HS football continues to improve- there are several good players not on the team because there are so many quality players to choose from.
