Dinner: what did you have?

Two spring rolls and a bowl of congee with sliced chicken at a Chinese restaurant in the Chinatown section of DC. It was the first time that I had tried congee (rice porridge) and it was very good. My wife, one of my sons, and I then walked down the street to the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Actually went out and bought supper last night. Went to this little joint in Lexington called Detroit's Coney Island. Got two Gyros for my son and a ear of deep fried corn. The corn was awesome. I had their special of Fish Sandwiches. Two whole fish filet...they were huge and sooo good. Also had cole slaw and tater tots. Neat little dive place in the Eastland Shopping Center in Lexington.

Chicken breast & the following veggies: yellow squash, zuchini, onion, red and yellow peppers. :thumb:

Thai iced tea

Tamarind soup with shrimp

Vietnamese pork spring rolls

Caramelized fish filets in clay pot

Grilled tofu and mixed vegetables

Country ham on biscuits, cinnamon spiced apples, sliced maters, sweet tea.

Leftover pizza. Really good leftover pizza.

Turkey in the crock pot with gravy, mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus.

My buddy's wife made us some jerk and habanero wings for the Steelers game. Outstanding. Throw in some BBQ Grippo's and a few beers and it made for a good day all around after visiting with Dad in the morning and afternoon and getting more good news with his progress.

Had some Campbell's Butternut Squash Soup (pretty good), and a mushroom and cheese omelette to get a hit of protein to go along with it.

Would you mind sharing the directions for the crock pot turkey? Sounds awesome!

Had stuffed peppers from Tailored catering in Alexandria.

Just opened and heard about it last night. You can stop by and pick up home cooked meals for $8 bucks a pop. Call ahead and they will have it waiting for you.

I had a really good cheeseburger & some onion rings from Howard's Place in Falmouth.
