July 21, 201511 yr Didn't feel like cooking last night so we made a batch of Sweet Onion "Crack" Dip. Mix cream cheese, parmesan cheese, diced sweet onion, mayo, and black pepper. Bake it in the oven for about 45-50 minutes and enjoy. That sounds very good but I consider it cooking if it has to go in the oven for 50 minutes.
July 22, 201511 yr Ybor city still a happening place? Have not been down there in a long time. The essence of Ybor is still mostly centered on 7th Avenue, it's still the poor man's Bourbon Street. You've probably been there on a Friday or Saturday night since I have, but I have friends who go down there all of the time on those nights. You have to go to at least one Gasparilla Parade and one Guavaween celebration to make your life complete. The last one I went to was close to 30 years ago and it was one of the best times I ever had. Now that I have kids over 40, I like to go on Sunday afternoon and window shop with Mrs. S. The cigar bars and restaurants are not as crowded. You can sit at a sidewalk cafe, listen to Latin guitars, and people watch to your hearts content. Florida is laid back to begin with, Ybor City on Sunday is the definition of laid back.
July 23, 201511 yr Had a rack of ribs from Dorky's Pork'ys BBQ from the Boyd County Fair. I did t go to the fair, but these were good enough that they were brought home to me. Anyone in the Ashland area that is going to the fair, I recommend stopping by their stand and trying the best ribs you've ever had. I love ribs and smoke them regularly, but I'm still trying to figure out how they made these so perfect. I've ate a lot of ribs, in a lot of different places, never had anything like these.
July 23, 201511 yr Super Big Boy Platter with a Vanilla Pepsi! With the new owners, Coke should be back in the next few months.
July 23, 201511 yr Torched up some big fat burgers on the grill last night. Pre made from Kroger. A couple of Cajun/blue cheese and a couple with cheddar in them. Along side them was 1.5 pounds of marinated shrimp. Mrs. TAC made some veggies in the oven and boiled some red potatoes to go with them.

Burgers, chicken, fish, whatever. Says she'd rather season it herself.
July 23, 201511 yr Wife won't buy any of the Kroger pre-made stuff. Burgers, chicken, fish, whatever. Says she'd rather season it herself. Normally we do it ourselves as well but have had great success with these a few times. Mrs. TAC had her mom with her and needed to grab something quick. We like the butcher shop at Kroger and the burgers were mighty tasty. Never tried the stuffed foods. The burgers are the only pre seasoned items we have had.
July 23, 201511 yr Came home after working the double header and my girlfriend had cooked Chicken Parmesan with garlic bread. Great dinner to come home to after a long day.
July 23, 201511 yr With the new owners, Coke should be back in the next few months. Cool...just as long as we have something to compliment dipping those fries into tartar sauce with! :thumb:
