Dinner: what did you have?

Try guessippis near shelter cove.

Had it last time we were here. Very good but liked Dough Boys a little better. More of a mom and pop place with better pricing and excellent food...

Steak, baked potato, grilled cabbage and homemade bread.

Thanks! I have 2 more trips scheduled for the island this year and always look for options.

Grilled pork chops, green beans, baked tater.

We haven't been in Punta Gorda since before Charlie tore it up, back in 2004. They used to have a nice 3/8 mile race track out on Duncan Road east of I-75. We went there with my brother-in-law several times when he raced in the Top Cop Racing Series.

We love it there. They have some good restaurants too, but we don't eat out all the time, we will stay in and eat on the patio, then hit the hot tub and pool.

Looks like its going to be crab legs tonight for me. One of the local Kroger stores has them on sale, wife brought a 3 pound bag home. I sent her back to get two more bags lol. I don't need any sides but told her to grab some ears of corn for her and the kids.

Just gonna boil the crab legs with seasoning, clear the dinner table and put newspaper on top, dump the legs and a few ears of corn on the newspaper with bowls of melted butter for dipping.

My son is the same way. I found split lobster tails on sale at Krogers today I bought all they had and put them in the freezer. I love to find things on sale there. Got some frog legs and steaks today too. Going to have the steaks tomorrow.

Today we had beef stroganoff with rice, green beans and sliced tomatoes out of my garden and cooked turnips.

Gotta love Kroger, I'm rarely in there honestly, but the wife goes daily. Between coupons and sales, we eat really well for less money than most spend for an average meal. We have a couple of Kroger's here that are within a few miles of each other. They both end up with overstock due to that and you can find some really good deals.

Thin crust is amazing at Doughboys in Hilton Head, best on the island

No doubt. Plus you can do custom orders by the slice. Great spot...

Had grilled pork chops and chicken and hot dogs with homemade sauce at our weekly card game. I sampled a little of each.

White beans, sauerkraut with kielbasa, and fried potatoes.

And sign that says:
