July 12, 201511 yr Shake-and-bake chicken breast; a mess of slow-cooked Roma beans, new potatoes and country ham; Italian bread and the first real cantaloupe of the season. A spectacular summer meal.
July 12, 201511 yr Went to Drakes for their $5 Burger. Honey jalapeño BBQ, onion straws, and cheese. Excellent. I rate it #2 behind The Cellars Bulliet Burger. Bacon would have made it #1 . Wish they were having that this week.
July 12, 201511 yr A Naked Mary at Hamburger Mary's in Ybor City. Stock up on some Tabanaros while you were near by?
July 13, 201511 yr Stock up on some Tabanaros while you were near by? I afraid not. We had my sister and a couple of nieces with us and I had to drop off Mrs. S at Cento Ybor and park the truck. Didn't have time, even though it is right across the street. She was in a hurry to get home. We plan on going down to Ybor next Sunday afternoon, just us, and do some shopping. I plan on hitting Tabanero and Long Ash. I need a new fedora, too. There is a great hat shop in the 1700 block across 7th Ave. from Long Ash.
July 13, 201511 yr Had one last outing for burger week. Hit up The Ketch for their Lum's Ollie Burger. It was a clone of the old Ollie's Trolley from days gone by. They had the original Lum's seasoning, and it was very good. For those of you who remember and liked Ollie's you would love it. Let me start by saying, there was not a bad burger in the batch of the ones I tried. Some were just better per my taste buds. I would rate them: 1. The Cellar - Bulleit Burger 2. Drake's - $5 Burger 3. The Ketch - Lum's Ollie Burger 4. Shamrock's - East Bound and Down O'Round 5. Lynaugh's - Voodoo Burger
July 13, 201511 yr Goodfellas pizza Saturday night and leftovers last night. Gotta start eating better haha!
July 13, 201511 yr I can drop you off as many fresh peaches as you want Sunday afternoon on my way home from the Peach Jam. I always hit a roadside stand and pick up a bushel. Let me know... I had 4 of the best and biggest white peaches for supper tonight. Thanks my friend they were sooooo good. :thumb:

July 13, 201511 yr Waiting on steaks from Scioto Ribber, first time in awhile. Our favorite frequented restaurant. Never had a bad meal here. I've heard great things about that place, but I'm rarely in Portsmouth unless just passing through so I haven't tried it yet. I'll be heading through there sometime within the next month, I'll have to stop in and try it.
July 13, 201511 yr Had a craving for Chinese today, I nor the wife can cook it to our standards, so we had takeout from china wok in Ashland. Excellent as always.
July 14, 201511 yr I've heard great things about that place, but I'm rarely in Portsmouth unless just passing through so I haven't tried it yet. I'll be heading through there sometime within the next month, I'll have to stop in and try it. Only time I've ever had to wait was Friday and Saturday during prime dinner hours and they are always crowded at those times.
July 14, 201511 yr Only time I've ever had to wait was Friday and Saturday during prime dinner hours and they are always crowded at those times. Do they do call in to go orders? I'll be going to mineral springs near Peebles sometime in the near future, when we head up that way it's usually around 3-4 pm on a Friday. I know it won't be as good 25 minutes later, but that's better than trying it hungover at 2pm on the way home on Sunday hah. Plus it would keep us from being in a rush to get food cooked Friday night.
