January 9, 201412 yr Hey everybody, the UK fans would like us to know how disappointed they are that Louisville re-hired the best coach it's ever had. We're all assured that they only have our best interests at heart. About 50% of Cat fans were all in for hiring Petrino at UK last year, so there are a lot of hypocrites complaining now. Barnhart received a lot of criticism by not talking to him, and I would have understood if he would have offered him due to UK being desperate for a winning team. I would have still been a UK football fan if they would have hired him, but I cannot imagine that I would have ever liked him as the coach.
January 9, 201412 yr Matt Jones was saying after the UK game last night, that Rich Brooks in his 35 years of coaching only has ever hated one coach. Nine other than Bobby Petrino
January 9, 201412 yr I would have still been a UK football fan if they would have hired him, but I cannot imagine that I would have ever liked him as the coach. And I don't know that I will. But I don't have to be convinced that he's become a good guy. I don't need to be convinced that he's not the guy he was when he left Louisville the first time. There are several concerns but the only thing I really need to be convinced of is that what happened at Arkansas will never. happen. again. Because that was awful. And seriously damaging. If Jurich is convinced he's not going to try and put his mistresses on staff anymore, then we're moving forward.
January 9, 201412 yr So many people thought it was a great hire for WKU but a terrible hire for UofL. Makes no sense. Dude can coach.
January 9, 201412 yr I would have still been a UK football fan if they would have hired him, but I cannot imagine that I would have ever liked him as the coach. Same here. I would not have turned my back on UK but I would have always disliked the coach and the Barnhart. If it is true that Barnhart would not even talk to him, makes me feel better about Barnhart who I have always been so-so on.
January 9, 201412 yr It's a very sad day for UL football and a bit stunning! After Petrino left for Atlanta 21 players that he recruited were dismissed form the team prompting Jurich to infer that he had not run things the right way by not having discipline in the program and not bringing in the right kind of kids! Jurich own words how in the world does he now bring him back especially in light of the things that went on in Arkansas? Has he lost his mind or is he that desparate to win to give up all trust and integrity! Just a very sad black eye for jurich and UL as my son told me last night he will never go to a game again as long as he is coach and he is not alone! Jurich and Bobby both said, the only way to prove their words is for them to PROVE their words. Tragedy that your son will turn his back on the program. I hear of others as well. I am there, regardless. I support the University and trust Tom Jurich. We'll see how this plays out.
January 9, 201412 yr Just a very sad black eye for jurich and UL as my son told me last night he will never go to a game again as long as he is coach and he is not alone! Buh-Bye. Lots of people will be looking to buy tickets next year with that schedule. Happy to know a couple more will be made available. A boycott over a coaching hire? Who's your son, Red McCombs?
January 9, 201412 yr Not if it's directed at UK... You are catching on :thumb: In all seriousness his off the field problems isn't a reason I would be worried. Like I said from W/L perspective it's a good choice. It's the lack of loyalty that would concern me. Not that many coaches are loyal. He just is on the extreme end of not having loyalty.
January 9, 201412 yr Anybody? Nope. All I care about is winning. I don't root for Nobel Peace prizes. I still like to mock Louisville though.
January 9, 201412 yr Buh-Bye. Lots of people will be looking to buy tickets next year with that schedule. Happy to know a couple more will be made available. A boycott over a coaching hire? Who's your son, Red McCombs? Don't let the turnstiles hit you on the way out. :lol2: Hey Xtiger, does your son have season tickets? Is he selling them? I'll give you my number...

It's the lack of loyalty that would concern me. Not that many coaches are loyal. He just is on the extreme end of not having loyalty. I've learned not to trust coaches when it comes to that. It's a hard pill to swallow, but any time a coach says "I love it here, my family loves it here, I want to be here, blah blah blah..." I won't believe them anymore. That's because of what has happened at my school and others around the country. As many have said, the days of Paterno are over. Coaches won't do that any more, it's just the nature of the business.
January 9, 201412 yr ^ That was obviously a joke, but there's where we are with modern sport. Paterno was the guy who everyone said "See, there's a school and a coach doing things the right way." And it was all crap. Love your school; hope for the best; come down hard when a guy screws up again...
