Petrino is back at Louisville

UL athletic dept. = moral cess pool they are going to have a lot of tickets available. If you believe he is a changed man or Jurich made a great hire then you believe Chane Behanen's championship ring was "stolen form his home" and put on ebay!

I DO BELIEVE THAT!

I was going to buy it and give it back to him but I spent the money on some magic beans instead.

*******

I'd recommend you read the posts in the thread instead of just typing because you seem to be a little confused about me. I don't care. And neither will anyone else in the end. It all goes away.

We've had rapists win the Heisman, murderers win the Super Bowl and racial bigots run professional sports teams. Nobody seemed to care. Does winning cure everything? You bet your sweet bippy it does, because this is America... and America loves a winner.

"Moral cesspool"? Have you walked around this city lately? Do you have any idea how weird it is? Stand outside the Phoenix Hill Tavern at 2 a.m. then come back and tell me this guy doesn't represent and reflect the people of Louisville and what they want. These people don't care about this stuff and ALL OF THEM will be in the stands come September.

You're picking and choosing which things to care about. Something about it being UofL sets you off and that's fine. Your choice. But when you start making moral judgments about particular people or concepts, it's going to prevent you from enjoying sports. It's nearly happened to me.

Then I realized something...

I don't particularly care anymore. The sports world is just as messed up and disgusting as the world around it. You can start making your moral judgments here and there but then they all come together and then you realize the crap stacks so high you can't even get your head above it anymore. The whole thing stinks.

When you realize the crappy smell is just the way the whole thing smells all the time, you just adjust to it. Petrino reflects poorly on the university? College sports are entirely ludicrous and yet they continue to exist because we permit the NFL to continue operating an anti-competitive cartel. When the rest of the system doesn't smell to high heaven, I'll be concerned when UofL sticks out.

Do you think that Jurich is worried about the type of reception that Petrino might receive if he is introduced at the basketball game?

It would be a standing ovation. Pretty positive about that.

Because Strong left, not because Petrino was hired.

And Strong is recruiting a few of them to Texas, the exact thing he said he refused to do Florida when he showed up at Louisville in 2010.

They're all completely full of it, ladies and gentlemen.

One(George Rushing) was apparently due to the coaching hire, while the other three were due to Strong leaving.

Rushing wanted Bedford. Anybody outside of Bedford, and he wasn't coming, more than likely.

I'm sure that it would, but I would be very surprised if the boo-birds were not heard as well. My family in Louisville is telling me that about 25% of the Card fans that have contact with are not happy at all with the hire.

It's definitely divided. I'll be at the game tonight. I would be standing. My dad, sitting right next to me, would not be.

So it was more about who didn't get it as opposed to who did get it. Was Bedford the one who recruited him?

I'll be there. What section do you sit in?

Yes. Bedford was in on his recruitment.

Can't remember the number. My parents have tickets but my mom apparently has plans so dad asked me if I wanted to go with him.

Lower level, sections behind the UofL bench, right on the bend close to the top.

You?

Yes. Bedford was in on his recruitment.

I love that shirt Petrino has on. I live in Corbin and there were 4 members of one family named Bird, from Corbin, who ended up with their jerseys retired at UK.

Front row of 318. There's a tunnel to the right of the visitors bench (same side)... I'm directly above that in the first row of the upper deck.

A $10M buyout is going to keep him there for at least four years.
