Best game I saw was putting 248 yards up on Moeller this year in 30 attempts in the driving rain with 10 in the box. 39 career TDs is pretty solid. He was MIA against MALE for the most part for reasons unknown.

Then by going by your own standards, hate to see Kuntz knocked out of the Mr Football convesation simply because SK didn't win the state title.

Even if SK wins the 6A crown, which is a long shot, Kuntz won't win Mr. Football. Top 5 maybe, but not a serious contender.

10-4 That was of the KSHAA SITE. Chances are, not totally accurate. Also, nothing noted for all purposes yardage and I understand he returned punts and kicks on occasion.

2 horse race with Barker and Fant in my opinion. If it was a one year award than Houliston and Kuntz would be in the equation. It is more of a popularity contest and where the kids are going to play at in college.. JMO

Here is my question: What were each players worse game and to whom was it against? I believe that will tell me more about a player than his best game! Stats are easy to earn/run up against low level opponents but how did they do in their worst game, which I can only believe was against a better team!

I looked up Fant vs the best teams on their schedule

Nacarius Fant - If you look at his MaxPreps stats, his worst statisical game was the first round playoff game vs. Apollo. He only played the first quarter because they were at a running clock early in the second quarter. In that game he had 2 catches for 32 yards.

 

Of the other 10 games they played the lowest catch amount was 4 or 5 in and of those all but Warren Central he had at least 2 TDs.

Most of these games (except Warren Central) were against teams BG had a running clock on early.

 

The best way for me to evaluate it is to look at his stats against the better teams BG played:

 

Lex Cath - 4 catches = 4 touchdowns

St X - 5 catches 110 yds 2 TDs

McCallie - 12 catches 229 yds 3 TDs Ran kickoff back 99 yds and caught crutial 2 pt conversion

Blackman - 9 catches 91 yards 2 TDs including the game winner with 35 seconds to go in the game

 

His toughest game in my opinion was against Warren Central because they know him and respect him; he only got 5 catches for 119 yards and 0 TDs

 

It should be noted that the DB assigned to him for McCallie has 4.4 speed and I believe is signed with Vandy. The DB Blackman covered him with was also their QB (a 6'4"athlete) who has offers for many SEC schools. Fant caught the game winning pass while being guarded by this guy. Obviously I'm drinking the purple kool-aid but this kid is special.

I think it would be pretty interesting if Quick was a senior this year. As I said Lon ago I think Fant is the better of the two. Fant is incredible and I think the best wr this state has seen in quite some time. He just knows how to create space and catches anything in the area. Even against faster DB's he's always come out on top.
