He also ran a kick off back in that game 99 yds right after a McCallie player ran one back. AND he caught a 2 pt conversion.

 

His quota for popcorn sales was down though:)

I have to think Barkers best game was against Boone Co right out of the gates. Not sure what his numbers were but he absolutely destroyed them and I think it was all in one half of play due to the heat index(I miss the warm weather already). Perhaps Clyde or Roman Empire could tell us his numbers that game. All I know is he put up some serious, serious numbers on them.

I do remember that game now that I think about it bc I was watching online. He definitely made a statement with that game and it was against a really good team.

Kuntz best game also could have been against Southern he was 13/13 177 yards 4 tds, 39 yards rushing and 1 catch 77 yards 1 td.

Barker put up great stats but the one thing he never got was past the districts. I know football is not a one man sport but the rest of the people up for this award have either made it to regions or are very close. I would put the order Fant, Houliston, Kuntz. If Kuntz gets to State I would probably move him up to a close 1. In Key games I do not think Barker put up the numbers you expect out of a division 1 football prospect.

No, they lost 31-30 to Anderson County. However, blude stated that he never made it past the second round which is false.

Does anybody find it difficult to vote for a player that has not been beyond the regional championships? Does it really matter? A special player might not have any other talent around him to carry his team far in the playoffs. Imagine if Drew Barker had Fant or even the receiving corp that Elijah Sindelar is throwing to at Caldwell County. Would that have made him a better player?

I think they should at least make it the state finals.

I don't and just like yourself I don't think you should. Barker is really really good. His teammates(no offense to Conner team), didn't have too many studs. They had about 6 or 7 guys that made plays on either offense or D but to advance you need 11 and to advance far you need even more. Sure Barker has room for improvement but he's very very good as is IMO. He's got a rocket for an arm, a nice touch when he needs to and he can run over at least one defender before being stopped.

So if SK doesn't make it to state finals, then you will never mention Kuntz and Mr Football in the same breath again?

I liken this years Mr. Football to this years Heisman. You can invite 5 players to fill the chairs, but its between Manzel and Winston.

 

You can round out your top 5 with whoever you want, but KY Mr. Football is between Fant and Barker
