October 11, 201312 yr Not saying he would, but I would figure in the long run it would be an upgrade in terms of having more of a chance to be successful on a consistent basis than he would have in Pittsburgh, plus good ownership support. What do you base any of the above on?
October 11, 201312 yr The more I think about it the more I like the idea of Proce being the manager. A familiarity with the players already. He seems to be a little bit more fiery than Dusty. And he seems to get the most out of his players which I hope could translate to the everday players.
October 11, 201312 yr Gonna be Price, just a hunch and lots of info reading between the lines. If he didn't think he's getting it, he'd already be in Seattle.
October 11, 201312 yr I think the lack of leaks about who they are talking to shows that Price is the target.
October 11, 201312 yr Here is a completely off the wall suggestion if they are looking for a new face and will consider a first time manager - Scott Rolen. Another off-the-wall nominee: Dave Duncan.
October 11, 201312 yr IF my man says it's Price, it's Price. Heck, even Walt said Dusty wasn't likely to be fired AFTER the last game. My man was right the entire time.
October 11, 201312 yr Another off-the-wall nominee: Dave Duncan. Don't see that happening. If he wanted to stay in baseball he would have stayed with the Cardinals.
October 11, 201312 yr Don't see that happening. If he wanted to stay in baseball he would have stayed with the Cardinals. He left Cards to care for his wife, who was battling brain tumor. She died in June of this year. Maybe Dunc is ready to return to the game. He and Jocketty go back a ways.

October 11, 201312 yr Cal Ripken said he'd like to get into coaching.......can't go wrong with that one..
October 11, 201312 yr Cal Ripken said he'd like to get into coaching.......can't go wrong with that one.. He's one of the favorite in Washington.
October 11, 201312 yr While I think it will be Price. If you're going with a former Red, why not Dave Martinez?
October 11, 201312 yr Author I really don't think its wise to have someone in their first stint as a coach being our Manager.
