Who is the Reds' Next Manager?

Featured Replies

I really don't think its wise to have someone in their first stint as a coach being our Manager.

I'd prefer that to a tired retread.

Just a prediction....If they hire Price, we'll be having this same thread within 3 years.

I'm not a fan of this hire either, but you have to admit it's a wait and see thing. We may also be having a thread wondering what took so long for him to get the position in the first place in 11 months.

Possibly, I just see him being Dusty all over again. There is no chance I'd even consider someone from Dusty's staff. They need someone who accepts the new era of baseball statistics.

I'd ask any candidate 2 questions before even getting into the meat of an interview...

1) Where do you feel is the best place in the lineup for Joey Votto?

2) What is the best way to utilize Aroldis Chapman?

The answers to those questions would determine if the interview continued.

Votto isn't going to hit anywhere but 3rd on this roster. He is still miles and miles ahead of anyone else in terms of ability to hit in that spot. Is he a 2 hitter on a 150 mil plus team? Probably. That isn't the case here, so put it to rest...

I know someone who works for the Louisville Bats. He has told me that the Reds have asked Corky if he would be interested in being the AAA Manager.

Never been any doubt about it.

I'm curious if there are still the same rumblings in the area about BP being dealt? Anyone? MTGL?

They will 100% try (hard) to find a dance partner to deal BP.

Your at the point now where you would get the max for BP in a trade, he is only going to decline in value with his age. Just is what it is.

Then I hope that they get a piece that is significant.

The thoughts of Paul O'neill in the dugout running the show excites me. Anyone else? I'd love to see someone with some fire. I miss Lou. I miss Davey Johnson.

Absolutely....He'd get thrown out at least a dozen times a year.

And his guys would play hard. I hate the "players manager" moniker. Hate it. I think it's stupid.

Yes his guys would, but not the guys on this team, there is a big difference.
