Eli Manning...I don't get it

Featured Replies

Back when Mike Vick was in his prime I thought he was the most overrated player in the NFL. He could run but that was about it.

Eli Manning I've been saying for years he is the most overrated QB in the NFL now. He has 2 SB's and all and I will be the first to say he played pretty good in those 2 games, but the rest of his resume isn't very good. He is average. He throws too many int's and bad passes through the regular seasons. He already has 7 Int's in just 2 games this year.

I get tired of the media touting him as one of the elite QB's only because of his name. He isn't half the QB his brother is.

I wouldn't say he's elite. But right now he has ABSOLUTELY no running game to help him out.

That's because their stupid coach keeps taking David Wilson out of the game for no damn reason.

Glad I didn't start him this week as I was afraid Coughlin was going to do the same thing he did with Wilson last year. He's back in the dog house...

First of all, Mike Vick is getting better with age. He might have his best career numbers this season.

Secondly, Eli Manning is really good...but he's no Peyton Manning.

I have no clue what he did today. Fortunately my BGP team is performing fine without him doing anything. Hopefully something changes. Soon.

The Giants line can't run block. That's why he comes out. He can't pass block.

Eli is pressing. When he presses, he turns the ball over. Right now, the pass game is, by far and away, the best thing the Giants have going and Eli is feeling the pressure to put 5 TD's up to win games. Running game, pass rush or Special Teams need to step up to take some of the pressure off of Eli, IMO.

Eli hasn't been all that bad. At least not as bad as his numbers show.

Two of his interceptions were in garbage time. Bad throws, like you said, when he was trying to do to much because they were losing by so much.

Also he had one today that went off of a guys freakin foot. Everything that could go wrong so far has gone wrong. But I've learned to never really count the Giants and Eli out until they're 100% eliminated.

The good news is the Giants can't get much worse. They can only get better.

You could add Joe Flacco to the "I don't get it", but they eventually get their teams where they need to be and then usually always perform well in the playoffs. Would almost bet with all of the "I don't get it " QB's winning Super Bowls, Matt Schaub will win it this year

Watch the Steelers line tomorrow night, you'll start to feel better about your giants.

I definitely get what your saying. Eli is hard to figure out because he can look amazing and look great in huge games, and then he could turn right around and look flat out horrible. I know people when it comes to Andy Dalton who has some of the best numbers for a QB in their first two years in the league question him a lot because of his lack of big wins and not doing it when it matters most. Well Eli has gotten it done plenty of times in big games, and even the biggest of games twice. His brother is the best regular season QB of all time, but not so great in the playoffs. Eli is an above average regular season QB, but when he gets in the playoffs he knows how to play big then. So I will say he is still elite, but definitely the most frustrating and confusing elite QB to watch haha.

True story. Horrid.

I'm beginning to wonder if you are DW's agent.

Eli has never been elite but he's been steady. His interception numbers average about 15 per season but like most have said in this thread, New York could get away with it in the past due to a strong run game and a strong defense. They have neither right now. I'd bet Peyton would give him his stats if Eli would give him that second ring.
