September 16, 201312 yr Author First of all, Mike Vick is getting better with age. He might have his best career numbers this season. Secondly, Eli Manning is really good...but he's no Peyton Manning. Mike Vick still can't hit the side of the barn most of the time and I don't see him finishing this season upright. Vick had one good year and that was his first in Philly. Mike Vick's career compl % is 56%...not very good at all. Vick's career QB Rating is 80 yet up until his arrest he was always, year in and year out being touted as the best player in the NFL.

He's hitting something. He passed for 428 yards yesterday.

I don't think anyone ever felt he was the best player in the NFL....most exciting possibly, but not the best. And he has improved throwing the football, as over the last 4 years he has about a 60% completion percentage. He has been too injury prone, and a turnover machine for much of his career, and if that happens this year, I'd say his career is just about over.
September 16, 201312 yr Back when Mike Vick was in his prime I thought he was the most overrated player in the NFL. He could run but that was about it. Eli Manning I've been saying for years he is the most overrated QB in the NFL now. He has 2 SB's and all and I will be the first to say he played pretty good in those 2 games, but the rest of his resume isn't very good. He is average. He throws too many int's and bad passes through the regular seasons. He already has 7 Int's in just 2 games this year. I get tired of the media touting him as one of the elite QB's only because of his name. He isn't half the QB his brother is. Hellbird, you are cracking me up today. In the Marvin Lewis thread you say the regular season means nothing and Marvin is a bum (paraphrasing) because he hasn't won in the post-season and hasn't been to the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl or bust mentality. Now, you go 180 degrees the other direction, openly discounting Eli's TWO Super Bowl's and crushing him for his performance two games into a 16 game regular season. This is rich.
September 16, 201312 yr For those saying Vick can't throw, you obviously haven't watched him play that much. Dudes got a legit cannon. I know people nit pick his accuracy but he is actually pretty good. His breakout year in Phili a few seasons ago he was hitting throws not too many QB's could have made, he was throwing lasers all over the field until he got hurt. A couple games I watched that year he was hitting throws that had zero room for error, throwing in tight windows in double, triple coverage. Far from someone who "just can run".

September 16, 201312 yr Give me Peyton for the first 58:00 and then give me Eli for the final 2:00 of the game.

This is rich. I've always had doubts about Eli as a QB in this league. I haven't changed one bit on that and the other thread we are talking about a coach. Huge difference. The coach is responsible for preparing a team to win and make in game adjustments to win the game. A QB is to throw completions and keep the offense on the field until they score. Tom Coughlin didn't throw those 7 int's the last 2 games.
September 22, 201312 yr Author Eli yet another poor performance as the Giants are 0-3 and he throws another int which gives him 8 after only 3 games.
October 8, 201312 yr It's a close race between he and Schaub now who are having way below expectations years.
October 8, 201312 yr Author It's a close race between he and Schaub now who are having way below expectations years.eli isn't having a way below expectations season. I'm telling you, look at the majority of his seasons...not very good.
October 8, 201312 yr If it wasn't for Plaxico Burress making that catch, Eli would have never won a championship....Heck he still might not win another Super Bowl...
October 8, 201312 yr 12 int's already. Eli is not good. Eli's not even good now? :lol2: He's been sacked once every 14 times he drops back this year. He's been hit much more than that. His offensive line stinks. I would expect you to know that since you make al your judgments on stats alone. I mean its obvious you don't actually watch the games.

I believe you are talking about the Tyree catch (and conveniently forgetting Eli made an incredible play to avoid a sack). Neither Tyree or Burress were on his SECOND championship team.
