I'm not so sure they will lose that many. You are going to play right away. Was there anyone that looked like a lock for next year?

 

I don't think immediate playing time is all recruits look at, would it help some, sure, but when every position you are bringing in you can offer immediate playing time it's a problem.

The recruiting class is gonna fall apart if UK goes 2-10. They will keep Barker and a few others but a lot of those big recruits will go elsewhere if Stoops doesn't get this team playing any better.

The missed extra point kinda said it all.

I thought it was very clear which team had the more experienced staff.

Whitlow wins the starting job because of his athleticism, not his passing ability. Brown's air raid offense is based on QB's ability to get the ball out on time and be accurate.

 

With Whitlow winning the job obviously the play calling will be modified to take advantage of Jalen's strengths., ie. designed QB runs and roll out passes.

 

Nope. Whitlow expected to do what we all no is his weakness at the position. Square peg in round hole. Whitlow set up to fail.

 

 

That said, the play at the QB position well down the list of problem spots for this team.

Recruits will be fine. Plus they'll get some more studs before February.

And so ends the Stoops era..... Ok prob not but in a deep deep hole already.

Don't follow as they showed them with some mind blowing improvement during his tenure.

 

As gently as I can put it, I will say that much as the whole team declined in Bowden's twilight, so too did the defense under Mickey Andrews at the end. So it's not surprise they improved.

Who DOESN'T want to have the chance to go up against (in the SEC, anyway), great competition as soon as possible? At virtually any level?

 

I don't think the recruiting class will be as negatively impacted as some, but time will tell.

They only have 3 spots left so, they better all be studs and of the five star variety. It's a decent class UK has coming in but with no five stars and 4/5 four stars (depends on which rankings you look at) this class will finish somewhere in the 15-20 range if those last 3 aren't big time 4 star or 5 star recruits. That is not the type of class that makes an immediate game changer. And if year two doesn't produce some wins next years recruiting class won't be as good as this one.

There's a reason Stoops isn't having any recruiting visits during the season. He knows what he's got. He's keeping the recruiting class far away until after the season. They will still be solid.

This one game won't change it alone, it's if the losses really start piling up it will have an effect. This is just like basketball the ultimate goal is to get to the league, starting from day doesn't necessarily get you to the league.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Strong class for 2013. Stronger class for 2014. Positive momentum. Everyone with a brain knew coming in that this year was going to be rough one.
