I think a safer comparison would be to compare this first season with Rich Brooks' first season. Any comparison of UK football to Alabama football is going to get lost in translation.

 

I didn't expect UK to win more than 3-4 games this year and I expected WKU to beat them. I also expected UK to look better. I think it is painfully clear to everyone now that it will be 2016 when the program is peaking under Stoops. 2015 at the earliest. They have a lot of work to do and for now the best part of UK football will be the offseason when hopefully they can keep recruiting at the pace they have been so far.

Mind blowing improvement against a mediocre ACC schedule. Check his stats against real teams and get back at me.

With the defensive Guru Stoops is and the offensive Guru Brown is and all the outstanding conditioning you don't lose to a Sunbelt team with a new Coach. Western has some new skill position players as well didn't they? Petrino has been scripting this win for weeks. You can't color this stain anything but brown.

I'm kind of amazed at the outrage honestly. Not sure Vince Lombardi could get this team to win 5 games. They are just flat bad and that's all there is to it.

You can scheme all you want but UK doesn't have any depth on the lines and LB and DB's are really thin.

We will learn a little more about WKU when they play Tennessee in two weeks.

The one fault I find with Stoops was not getting Smith in there two start the second half.

You can lose to a SunBelt team when your overall talent level is not as good as the other team.

You got some true freshman who have some talent but will take some time to develop.

If you can't settle on a QB, you don't have a quarterback.

The biggest victory for Stoops this year will be to keep his recruiting class in tact and Im sure they are aware of the situation that UK is in.

Again the damage that Joker did to this program, and the additional year he was given set this program back even further.

UK is bad. The defense was awful. Stoop's defense takes talent. He was a good DC but is not the technician that Saban an his disciples are or the schematic savant that someone like Gary Patterson or others are. JMO.

Couldn't tell what coverage UK was attempting to run and saw very few tackles that finished a good stick wit a drive. Too much diving. WKU ran right through that and the arm tackles.

Did you really expect WKU to dominate as much as they did? No. I thought it would be closer and more competitive. A lot of work to do but they will get it done IMO. Relax people.

Nope. I thought it would be much closer and more competitve as well. I know there is work to do and knew that before the season started. I didn't expect UK to win more than 4 games this season. I expected them to lose to WKU. I didn't expect them to look this bad doing it. They have a whole lot of work to do, more work than I expected. As I said earlier, Stoops needs to focus on some top notch defensive recruits now.

I hoped UK would win, I thought they had a good shot at winning. I knew WKU would be tough. I did not expect UK to be that bad on defense and missed tackles, I did not expect 16 passing yards at halftime, I didn't expect them to get beat worse than what the score indicates.
