They only part I would disagree on were special teams. UK was solid, with the exception of the missed PAT.

Guys there is only so much coach blame. How many missed tackles did UK have? How many times did they get juked or rolled over? That is not Stoops fault at all.

As for the Kentucky game last night or the Idiots that were booing Stoops, ranting on the call in shows. I honestly am not surprised . Reason being UK fans shouldn't expect a lot in one season, or even two or three but Idiots will be Idiots ! UK was beaten by a better football team, that's just the sad truth.

One good recruiting class will not get it done, Stoops has his good recruits added to absolutely nothing. Just going to take a few more real good classes...."you can't make chicken salad out of chicken :poop:" and if some can't see that then they are blind.....and "mentally challenged".

I do think he could have sustained more drives than Whitlow with his arm, and in effect, kept their offense and our defense off the field as much as they were though.

I disagree. Petrino has never taken over a D1-A program in as much disarray as UK. There is no evidence he would have done better with this team.

 

Petrino and his staff were hands down more prepared and better last night. It's WKU he didn't take over a BCS program.

UK will be better. I do think the best chance they have for success is to play Smith or Towles and throw it 50 times per game. UK is not in a position to run the ball in the SEC at this time.

I just took the time to read this whole thread. I see a lot if calm down people etc. but 80% or more of this thread is either a fan of another team just taking a well deserved jab at UK or stuff that has nothing to do with the game. I was in Nashville for this one and I didn't see many UK fans that upset or surprised. I don't think the majority of UK fans expect anything out of this season and took this loss in stride. With that said congrats to the WKU fans on here.

I tried not to handicap the game through blue-tinted glasses (predicting a 3-point UK win) but I walked out of the stadium with these observations: WKU (Petrino/Brohm, I assume) called a great game---------UK seemed vulnerable on the edges both on offense and defense but especially on defense----------UK fought back (but the missed PAT was a bummer....would have cut the lead to 8)---------UK got out-toughed (this was the most disappointing to me). I think Stoops will get the job done and the team will soon show improvement, even though the players are not what he needs or wants.

UK can run the ball. They just can't do it often with a passer the other team doesn't have to fear. I'm fine with their backs. They just need to be able to give the backs a chance.
