These are Joker Phillips players and they are not very good. That's just the bottom line. Give Stoops a couple of his recruiting classes before you make any conclusions.

I'm kind of amazed at the outrage honestly. Not sure Vince Lombardi could get this team to win 5 games. They are just flat bad and that's all there is to it.

 

Lombardi's first year with the Packers, he went 1-10-1. That team had 5 future hall-of-famers on it.

Petrino would have done more with UK tonight if the roles were reversed.

I agree. He probably would have a different scheme but talent wise UK is in bad shape. Except for some of the freshman who have some talent.

Big time D coach, big time O coach weeks to prepare, you cannot lose to a Sun Belt team.

Take a look at that WKU coaching staff, people might not understand the level of coaching talent CBP has assembled, these were Great White Sharks swimming with seal pups. Coach to coach, WKU has UK beat at every key position, this would be a very strong SEC staff. If I needed a DC I would take Holt straight-up over Stoops ( let alone Eliot) in a heartbeat; and Callaway versus Schlarman is not worthy of discussion at OL. Regarding the DL, Dunn coached Brumbaugh at Auburn...get my drift.

We all know that the WKU coaching staff will not be together long at WKU, but take a look at the WKU staff bios, these are high level seasoned guys that were in complete control on the sidelines last night. Stoops and his team had first game jitters and had a very concerning " deer in the headlight" look on the sidelines. :scared:

 

When talking about UK, the WKU coaches can beat yours with theirs, and they can beat theirs with yours.

Yeah, given the hype, I thought they'd be better. However, practice is practice. Real game experience is a different animal. New DC, new HC, new position coaches across the board. Let's see what they do to correct the mistakes before we condemn the coaching staff to the scrap heap.

It didn't surprise me, although I was hoping for better. UK's lack of playmakers on defense combined with Petrino's knack for play calling was not a good recipe for UK winning.

Admit it UK fans, you were beaten by a better team, from top to bottom. Better coaching, better offense, better defense, better special teams, better players. PERIOD!

I am very disappointed in how UK looked on defense. I thought Stoops would have had them playing better than that.
