Trigg County's Taylor McGee bench pressed 405, had a 530 squat, and a 625 dead lift at a recent powerlifting meet. McGee is a senior first-team all-stater who will play at Kentucky Wesleyan next year

 Wowee! That is one strong young'en!

One of the coaches at North Laurel told me that they lost two of their strongest players in Woods (1,130 lbs on 3 lifts) and George (around 1,000 lbs on 3 lifts). He also told me that suprisingly, several of the strongest players are some of the seniors to be (current juniors) who are in the skill positions (WR, QB, RB, etc) and that they have several young linemen who are working hard and improving every day, but I don't have the numbers on any of them right now. I was told that the strongest pound for pound player was probably the Robinson kid (WR/DB) who is pumping up well beyond what he should be able to at his size and that he is probably the speediest player on the team.

Got a call from someone very close to the program a few minutes ago and they stated that the Robinson kid I mentioned is Shiloh Robinson (WR/DB) and that he may be the strongest overall player on the team. They were trying to get some numbers on him. He also said that Robinson along with Maggard (RB/LB), Asher (TE/S) and Stuber (QB/DB) were 4 of the strongest 8 players on the team. That could be good or bad news. The good news would be that the skill position players have worked very hard and are very strong OR that could mean that the linemen really have a lot of work to do to catch them.

Here is a few of the top ones at Franklin County

Player Clean Squat Bench Dead

Nate Newland- 285 455 250 565

Jon Watkins 245 425 300 500

Willie Smither 275 425 435 540

Terry Metcalf 235 405 250 405

Larry Taylor 225 400 240 455

Jeffrey Wheat 250 385 275 455

They also have a few younger kids that are exceptional for their age.

Higher bench than squat? (Smither)

The Smither kid from Franklin County is not pushing 435 on bench. At least he wasn't within a 100 lbs a couple of weeks ago at the Franklin County weightlifting competion. He might have benched some where close to 300.

Hoskins, Breeding, & Earls have been nominated, so I've heard. Don't know if they've been accepted or where they would be assigned.

3 players from one team would be very impressive. Its hard enough to get 1 invite, let alone 3. Hope all goes well for them though and they each get accepted. Good luck.

that is a total misprint Willie benches around 275 same as his clean, that would be a great bench but that is not what his is.

Well, for this past season Leslie's DT Jerry Caudill was the strongest on every part of lifting. He benched 370 lbs., squatted 500, cleaned 295. This season, they have a junior coming up through the ranks. James Mosley is a sophmore this year and junior next season, and can bench over 325.

Some of our strongest players lifting right now are:

Bench Clean Squat We don't max on deadlift

Derek Stevenson-LB-250 -----235-----Didn't max

Aaron Jones-OL DL--230------225-----410

Jonathan Heck FB LB-230-----225------410

(P.S. On squat we go parallel, we don't touch a box!)

What school is this for?

If you are talking about the past season the for Simon Kenton it would be Silas Siffel with a Squat of 495 and Bench of 325. This kid as an ungodly amount of strength!

How much did he way, I was thinknig he'd shed some lbs. or atleast gotten more lean?

I'd like to see some height and WEIGHT with some of these numbers, also of these bahemiths whom will actually see the field?

Here are a few of the regulars from Western Hills;

Evan Rutledge - Ht: 5'10" Wt: 215 - Bench=300 Clean=275 Squat=405

Braken Napier - Ht: 5'10" Wt: 190 - Bench=275 Clean=275 Squat=315

What school is this for?
