August 9, 201313 yr Josh Johnson brings more to the table, more versatility, stronger arm. Can he make decisions and manage a game? I say he has more upside than Andy Dalton and gives the Bengals a better chance of winning and making a playoff run. Thoughts?

August 9, 201313 yr Not even one game into preseason and people want Dalton out and whoever this Johnson guy is. This is very funny and I'm not even a Bengals fan.

While Johnson had some nice runs, and a couple of nice passes. He also didn't look comfortable in the pocket at all, hurried throws under pressure, and missed some wide open guys on easy check downs. He is an upgrade at the backup QB spot IMO, but lets just leave it at that for now.
August 9, 201313 yr This thread doesn't really exist right now, does it? I'm only imagining it, right?

August 9, 201313 yr The only thing to take from tonight is this roster looks as deep as expected. That's it... I completely agree. Calling Hellbird to disagree with this crazy statement of this team being deep in 3,2,1...
August 9, 201313 yr Just crazy to think it would even be considered. If JJ was starter caliber, he would still be in TB because Freeman is still being evaluated. You have to believe if he was starter caliber the Jags, Browns, Jets, Vikes, would have given him a look see. He just is not a very consisten passer. Jon Gruden coached him and called it pretty accurately. Good insurance policy for was few games. His TD pass was a rocket and perfect. His firt few passes were ducks. He did get a little better throwing as the game went on, but against 2nd and 3rd teamers.
August 9, 201313 yr The crop of new age QBs has warped your mind. Dalton may not be perfect but he has the third highest TD total after two seasons. Let's just be happy that we have a serious athlete as a backup. That's pretty significant for an already solid roster.
