2013: How is your year going so far?

Featured Replies

For me it's been a good year, so far.

I have switched jobs, making my drive a lot less to work.

I have dropped 27 pounds, so far.

The only bad things that has occurred was my computer died, but it was eight years old.

I had a tooth break.

After the last three years I can handle the two little bad things.

Excellent!!

Picked up a 2nd job and absolutely love it.

Helping coach basketball underneath a Head Coach that I really admire and respect.

Paid off my car.

It's been a great year so far.

So far so good.

Graduated the first one and pleased to learn that her academic and extracurricular diligence has set her up quite nicely for UK.

Got some great medical news for another child and feeling positive and hopeful about that.

Got addicted to exercise and lost weight and inches. (But not as much as NewarkCatholicFan! :notworthy:)

I am sorry about your loss. Just remember that he is in a better place now.

It's been going pretty solid. Didn't have a great outlook coming into 2013 because 2012 ended with the ol gal and I splitting up after a lengthy time together but it actually was probably a blessing in disguise. I was able to focus on things I wanted to do and so far I have been able to do those things.

Bought a new car.

Dean's list at NKU.

Saw Dixie make the regional finals (baseball) with a young team.

Met a new girl.

Spent a lot of quality time with quality friends.

Back to playing a lot of softball.

Raise and increase in job responsibilities (that I enjoy) at work.

:thumb: Nice!

I'm loving all of the positive vibes in this thread! Glad to see some folks having good years so far.

Been good here in the TAC house as well. Changed territories at work and after a bit of travel things are back in line just in time for the summer. Oldest made deans list at UK in his first year. A small raise come with the change at work. Been to 2 lakes already and have pleasure trips planned to Orlando, Hilton Head and Cobos for later this year.

Despite my "Today just SUCKS" thread on Saturday, this year has been a pleasant one for the most part. Miss my good dog more than I can say, and it hits ya' at the weirdest times that he's gone. Mother-in-law passed away yesterday, but at least she's not in pain anymore. If you smoke, please stop. Those lung diseases are a pain to watch as they progress.

I choose to focus on the little joys this year has brought, and hope to enjoy many more of those as 2013 flies by.

Year of the Cardinals. Job is going pretty smooth, in the middle of our slowest time of year. Vacation coming up in 12 days. Birthday in 17 days. Things are pretty good so far.

UK basketball was hard to deal with

I have been Hospitalized 3 times

I have been diagnosed with Chronic Heart Failure

Missed 12 weeks of work

Can't walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath

Attempted to return to work but could not

No longer have a job

I have a family that has rallied around me

Friends that have shown love and concern

I'm getting very good medical care

My wife and kids are in good health and fortune

I know Jesus Christ

I am blessed, I know it and I'm having a great year.

Sold some ground we've had on the market since forever, which has opened up a door to being completely debt free almost exactly one year from today. Lord willing.

We took the mortgage out in May of 2007 on a 15-year fixed rate. I told my wife & anyone who would listen that if we went over half the length of that loan, I would be a little bit disappointed. If all goes as planned--and who knows what can happen between now & then--we'll have it paid off in about 7 years & 3 months.

If something happens that thwarts our plans, I'll take it out on Getslow.

So far, this year has been fantastic, for me personally. However, the joy is tempered by the great losses suffered by some of my closest friends.

School has been going great so far. Completed my fifth straight semester with a 4.0 GPA. Named to the President's list and invited to join Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. All of this is coming after basically flunking out in 1985, due to health problems and other issues. I can only explain it as the grace of God. I believe with every bit of my heart, that there's no way I would be in this place without His divine providence.

I take no honor or glory in anything that has happened along the way. All I've done is open myself up to accepting Him and following His divine will.
