If the Heat had a center they could have challenged the 72 games this year.

JORDAN (or Wilt) is still GOAT!!! LeBron could get there but, he needs to have crazy success the next 5-6 years to get there.

Given that the entire Eastern conference besides them was missing vital pieces to their teams, the Heat could have hit 72 games. They realize their talent and just had lapses where they did not care. I think once the streak got rolling they got interested.

I think the Heat can be dangerous next year and possibly the year after if either one of a couple things happens.

One scenario being tossed around is the acquisition of Greg Oden and/or Samuel Dalembert. If this were to happen and they could actually get valuable production out of one or both of them, they could keep Bosh and still be dangerous. Probably even more dangerous considering Bosh can play his normal stretch 4 position and not be a post. I'm not going to put much faith into Greg Oden's knees though so I'm not sure how well this would work out in the end, sounds good but I would have to see an effective Oden again before I believed it. Dudes been out of the league since 2009', thats a lot of rust to shake off. I think Dalembert could still be a very productive big for them though, so he could make them a pretty big threat.

Another scenario is to get rid of Bosh in exchange for a legitimate inside presence.

If either one of those two things happen, I think Miami can improve their team a lot so who knows what can happen from there. If they cannot secure a decent post though they are going to be screwed regardless. I was at 99.999% with the feeling to get Bosh out of there, but if they can really get a cheap option like Oden or Dalembert to be productive inside I think its worth seeing how it looks. Again, don't have much faith in Oden's health but if he can be half of what he was in college I think the Heat would be pretty tough. All Bosh needs to look a lot better out there is a true post to play alongside him, without that he is useless to that team.

Miami needs to have another big man. Bosh as a 5 against these bigger Centers just doesn't cut it anymore.

IF Oden came back and stayed healthy then it'd be a presence that they don't have right now.

Gonna be an interesting offseason for them.

Bosh is just another part, although a good one. But Bosh is not the key to next year. Wade's health is the key. Game 7 showed that if Wade can do his thing, he and LeBron can get it done even in a game that big against a top opponent.

I have known of Greg Oden for 7 years now. He has been injured in some capacity every year I have known of him. Just not seeing how it will work for him. I hope I am wrong. In five NBA season Oden has suited up for 82 games.

Oden is the name I keep hearing. The Heat just need a serviceable big man so Bosh doesn't have to play the 5. If they're looking for an all-star 5 they will probably have to move Bosh.

Agreed, not happening.

He just made the case for Bill Rusell's Celtics. Twice as many rings as MJ.

Yeah, I don't think you can just look at rings. I mean Robert Horry's got 7, and I've never heard his name mentioned as GOAT. And while some of Jordan's teams were among the elite, I don't think I'd put ALL 6 at the top of the list. It'd be interesting to see how some of them would've faired against some of the Celtics or Lakers teams of the 80's.

I loved MJ the player. Loved how he wanted to not just beat you but just showed no mercy.

Sadly, he can't let go. This is just one more example. Taken by itself it's no big deal. You could say he's having fun. Having heard his HOF speech and other interviews, though, tells us that he simply can't let go.

Bill Russell wouldn't be doing this. Larry Bird hasn't done it.

The Celtic, Lakers, and 76ers of the 80's would have disposed those Bulls teams with relative ease...

That's a bit much, Mack.
