My mom has been ill for a couple months now, it all began with pneumonia. While being treated they discovered she has a narrowing of the mitral valve in her heart. This continued to cause pneumonia and in turn weaken her. About a week ago she became very nauseous and had frequent vomiting. She was taken back to the hospital where they did a cat scan which indicated she had a nodule near her navel and two blood tests were elevated. The nodule was biopsied and the results came back Wednesday for adenocarcinoma, cancer of the epithelial tissues that line the abdomen in her case. She is 83 and we were told the only treatment available is chemo and at her age and weakened state it would do her more harm than good and would make her miserable. She is now in Hospice at the hospital here in Fort Thomas. I ask that you keep her in your prayers, that her pain and nausea may be treated and that we can keep her comfortable as she is entering the final chapter of her life. Many thanks to all in advance.

Sending prayers to you and your family. I lost my mom just last month to cancer. She was 79 and couldn't handle the chemo either. Like you said, it did more harm than good so she stopped and lived her last few months visiting old friends and spending quality time with her family. I hope and pray that your mom finds peace and comfort during this time and does not suffer.
