Run to State's blessed mother was taken up into heaven not long after he was with her last night. I ask that you pray for the repose of her soul and that God's comforting hand be upon her family. She was one of the sweetest, most gentle people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I will miss her.

Thanks for the update BF.

Very sorry for your loss RTS. Continuing to lift up you & yours.

I am truly sorry to hear this, RTS.

When I come to the end of the road

and the sun has set for me,

I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.

Why cry for a soul set free!

Miss me a little, but not too long,

and not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love that we

once shared,

Miss me but let me go.

For this journey we all must take,

and each must go alone.

It’s all part of the Master plan,

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart,

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing

good deeds.

Miss me, but let me go.

You are in our thoughts and prayers tonight, RTS.

I am truly sorry to hear this, RTS.

That is beautiful!! :thumb:

RTS, sometimes I don't know how to sympathize with some things or situations that folks here request prayer for, but this one I know exactly how you feel. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has seen their mothers reach their heavenly home, and there's a sweet comfort in that alone that is beyond explanation. However, we are left here with a void. Mothers do that to us. They love unconditionally, and I will be praying for you brother. There will be nothing fill that void, but the peace that passes all understanding has never been more true in my life than the comfort that we will be reunited one day in Glory! May the Lord bless and comfort you thru all of this RTS, I mean that sincerely.

I'm sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and the RTS family.

Prayers to you and your family from the Dog house.

Prayers for comfort are with you Run. God Bless you and your family.

You're a good friend! You know how much mom thought of you. Now she's watching over us.

Thank you so much for posting that, mcpapa! While it made me cry, it comforted me as well. God bless.

Thank you, my friend! It will take time for good memories to takeover pain and sorrow of losing her, I know. But the unconditional love you mentioned is so true and what shines through. I know she's at heavenly peace, and that is truly comforting.

I want to thank my BGP family for their outpouring of love and support. Your kind words, thoughts and prayers have meant so much to my mom, my family and myself, no words could express our gratitude. While I'm hurting badly from losing my mom (God knows how much I love her), I take solace in knowing she is now reunited with my sister Sherri. She has waited nearly 35 years for that joy and I know they are watching over us now. Like my dear friend, Birdsfan said in agreement with my daughter, heaven has gained a first rate angel!

Again, many thanks to all of you and God bless.

I would like to share this poem that was in the back of the booklet that Hospice gave to us:

Gone From My Sight

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,

spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts

for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.

I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone"

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side.

And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

And that is dying...

by Henry Van Dyke

Sorry to hear of your mother's passing. You, and your family are in my prayers.
