My prayers for you and your mother, sorry I didn't see this earlier.

RTS's mother will be laid to rest tomorrow morning, following a funeral mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Please continue to keep this great family in your thoughts and prayers as they pass through a time of tears, toward a time of fond remembrance.

Margaret was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever had the pleasure to know. It was heartwarming to see so many people come out in the bad weather to honor her tonight. Tomorrow will be most difficult for RTS and family.

Sorry I missed you. My in-laws are in town from Pittsburgh so I needed to get home.

Thank you all so much for the kind words and prayers, they mean so much to me. This has been the most difficult time of my life since my sister passed away nearly 35 years ago. The one thing besides the kindness of all of you that gives me solace is to know my mom and my sister are together again after such a long, long time. I know they are at peace in the light and love of the Lord.

 

Birdsfan, I thank you so much for helping me through this. You're a great friend and it's a privilege to call you friend and mom really thought the world of you and your wonderful family. Really, you're much more than a friend, you're family, a brother. One that I'm as proud as I am pleased to have.

 

Clyde, I can't thank you enough for coming to the visitation tonight. You are so kind and thoughtful. Mom would have loved to have met you, she loved a kind heart, and you my friend, you have a very kind heart. I hope we call hang out again soon.

 

To all the rest of you wonderful people. May God bless you all and again I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love my BGP family.

 

I would like to share another poem with all of you. It's pretty much how I feel right now and when I saw it, I cried for quite a while.

 

If roses grow in heaven,

Lord please pick a bunch for me,

Place them in my Mother's arms

and tell her they're from me.

 

Tell her I love her and miss her,

and when she turns to smile,

place a kiss upon her cheek

and hold her for awhile.

 

Because remembering her is easy,

As many of the regulars here know, I lost my mom in 2004 and I still think about her every day. Unfortunately it never gets "easy", but there are times I know she is there with me. All you can do is remember the many good times and let her spirit carry on.

 

Tomorrow will be a challenge, but she would want nothing more than for you to remember the best of times and sneak in a smile when it doesn't seem possible. It has gotten me through many days that seem unbearable over the past 9 years and hopefully will bring some comfort to you and your wonderful family over time...
